General transfer rumours

City Watch posted a daft Tweet about Isco to replace Silva and Silva to Juventus.

Then Mike Devlin (author of The Secret History of a Club with No History) tweeted saying his sources claim it could very well happen and that if the right offer came along he will be gone.

Nope. No way. This just cannot happen. Not in a month of bleeding Sundays.

Having given this further thought, I am now prepared to support this proposal but only on the basis that the Silva in question is @karen7 's cat ;-)

No source in the club just posts what the media says

Hope not, but he was telling people 'his source' told him that at the right price Silva would leave. Which seems to me it's a hint he has a source at the club. . .

Unless he's talking out of his arse and on the wind up. . .

I was only chatting with a blue tonight at my lads football training, and i said to him that i did'nt think Silva would be here much longer.
Can't see it being Italy though.

Just think about it logically for a min
(Not that I'd ever want it to happen)
But what if we were offerd a stright swap for pogba
Would it make sense to do it on a buisness level I mean
Bearing in mind the age differences and sell on values?

By the way I love the guy and want him to retire here
And start the chants of sat in the stands!!

I know City Watch is just speculation. The thing that's worried me is that Mike does seem to have a source at the club.

I don't think he does, he's an author who lives in Germany, and going off his twitter I don't think he's lived in England for years. Most likely chancing his arm and going off the rare few rumours of Silva leaving we've had in the past, in the very unlikely event it does happen, IMO.

Looking at Silva's age and the 3 essentially attacking midfielders we're targetting I think this could be a bit more likely than we'd like to hear.

In De Bruyne we'd be buying the best available Silva replacement.

This isn't going to happen because:
- Merlin is one of the most popular players at City along with Zab and Kun
- he has always been one of the first name on Pellegrini's team sheet
- he's on 190k pw. No Italian team could pay anything near that.
- judging from his I/v last published week, he has no intention of leaving.
