flared jeans

i LOVE flared jeans! Been wearing them for 15 years! Unfortunately it seems hard to get a pair now, stupid shops are obsessed with "skinny" so all you can find is bootcut, which is no more flared than a normal pair of jeans pfffft.

I'm a 6 foot tall woman btw, does that allow me to wear flares? Esp now i'm back to the thin weight i used to be?! ;)

that's what I said!! No sisters and my mother is short so can't give you any fashion advice, whatever I think you should probably do the opposite of anyway...

I'd Google image the type of girl that shouldn't wear hotpants but I'll be sleeping soon and don't want nightmares...

^ at least you agree! Bootcuts are shit!!

I was in long tall sally a few months ago, (crap overpriced shop for tall women that due to normal shops often giving up at 32 inside leg i'm forced to shop at) and they'd had hired some camp twat in his 20s dressed in the camp twat uniform of clothes so tight he looked like he needed to be cut out of them...
he asked if he could help, i said about flares, he announced they haven't been in for years why not try skinny(!!!!!!!!!!), i pointed out i bought some from here 5 years ago and i love them... and he said, get this, "move on"!!!!!!! Fucking twat, lucky i didn't chin him ;) Since when was it good for shop assistants to tell their customer that their choice of clothes is shit?!

I'm over it now, honest *andbreathe* ;)


I'm only stuck cos i can't find the flares i had from when i was last this thin, and i'd need a belt with the ones i last had a few years ago (don't like belts, i'm weird!), so am wearing my sisters old bootcuts (boooooo) that's she's now too fat for (haha!)

He's still there if we all want to go and take him on ;) Why a shop that mainly sells to women who know what they want (due to being forced there by being tall freaks! *cries*) has hired an Ab Fab reject i just don't know...

That I'm down for, group of blues (even one or two...) intimidating a camp fashonista who didn't have the foresight to know his own clientele. Hilarity surely ensues. Work in the city centre, where is this place?

I got that when I went to HMV in town, I was about to buy a Hot Chip album and some fat slag behind the counter with a shit death metal band T-Shirt on said in a proper arsey tone "Hot Chip are shit" I just said "you know what? You're right, I don't know what I was thinking" and put the album on the counter and walked out! 7 years later they made everyone redundant....

Me 1 - 0 Fat slag

One point not raised in this thread yet is the fact most of us don't even pay much attention to what everyone is even wearing anyway.
We're so concerned in our own lives, I mean think about it - how much thought/effort do you yourself put into when walking down the street about what others are wearing?
And yes you might say see someone wearing a City shirt and think - oh how nice, a fellow blue... but 5seconds later you've forgot about that person and you're back into thinking about which pastie to buy at Greggs.

The work environment is different as we may be expected to look smart/presentable but in day to day?
I couldn't give a shit what others are wearing, I'd prefer to walk around dressed like Ghandi... much cheaper than buying £50 footy shirts anyway.

`they made a brief comeback about 84 85 round our way anyway i can remember loads of us jumping on the 17 to rochdale to a shop called stewards i think
they must of had job lot left over from the 70s proper massive flares all our parents was pissing themselves laughing they didn't mind though at 3pound a pair
