De Bruyne?

Manchester City have tabled a £45 million offer for Wolfsburg winger Kevin De Bruyne, Goal understands.

The offer comprises of £40m up front, with £5m of guaranteed add-ons, as Manuel Pellegrini's side look to finally seal a deal for the Belgian international, whom they have tracked for the majority of the summer.

Goal understands City are keen to push through the deal in the coming days and have thus arranged for a flight to England to be on stand-by for the former Chelsea star, who was named Bundesliga player of the year for last season.

Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted on August 1 that De Bruyne was "99.9%" certain to stay put but conceded that the club would listen to the offer should City make their move.

I hope it's true but that article sounds like it was written straight from the last 20 pages of this thread.

That's a high bid to begin with so you'd expect them to accept it.

Surely we'd go in lower to begin with. We started at £30m + £5m add ons for Sterling and paid out £44m + £5m add ons. That's a 40% increase.

40% increase on £45m is £63m!!!

Ric said that the deal will be struck at around £46m so, if we have bid £45m, agreement must be very close then.

If it does happen, Toure HAS to be more disciplined in his defensive duties. No more lung busting runs, then limping back slowly with hands on hips.
