Rony Lopes

I rate Lopes. He needs to get the chance to show himself so another loan is out of the question. He stepped up to the first team and now he need to prove he's good enough to get minutes on the pitch.
The fact City want to extend his contract speaks volumes. If he doesn't want to extend he either prefers to play more regular somewhere else or knows what's coming (Garcia). In the end the player takes up the challenge and the player proves he's good enough. That's the kind l like to see at City.

If De Bruyne really is arriving then I wish we would sell Nasri. I don't dislike him but at this point and into long-term it benefits the club much more to sell Nasri and give his role to Lopes.

Very simple for me. If Rony Lopes won't sign a new contract, sell him this summer and move on. Not remotely arsed one way or the other with any player who fucks around with their contract or tries to hold the club to ransom.

He hasn't done much on loan, or for Portugal this summer to justify making high demands contract wise. He's got the potential to be an excellent player and in my opinion the club should have looked to part with Nasri or Navas to try and make a place available for him. That's not happened but I can see a Rekik situation arising whereby we sell with a buy back clause.

100% Agreed.

Hasn't done much on loan? Was Lille's best player by a country mile and earned comparisons to Hazard by the same coach who made Hazard what he is today. What exactly were you expecting him to do? Score 60 goals, take Lille to the top of Ligue 1 singlehandedly and win the Ballon d'Or?

Tbh, he only played about 2 games that I saw, where he would have got even near to City's standard. It was more flashes of brilliance. But Lille were totally shit, negative & clueless , so we take that into consideration.

But he hasn't proven anything yet other than he has potential, & is capable of moments of magic, which we knew anyway.

Firstly, Lille were dross so you'd hope he would be one of their best players. Secondly, the coach was asked "how does he rate compared to Hazard" and was therefore drawn into that comparison.

He's shown glimpses of his talent but he wasn't a stand out performer, he wasn't anywhere near as good as Hazard was and in the u20 world cup he wasn't a stand out performer by any means.

Selling Nasri to give Lopes a more game time is not right imo.

Nasri is more reliable than Lopes.

Think he is a goner unfortunately

Yep. It's disappointing but at this stage our experienced lads are ahead of him and seem to be more in tune in what Manuel Pellegrini expects and Lopes needs to gain valuable experience away from the club.

Very disappointed that he hasn't been given a chance here for at least a season. Hopefully get a buy-back clause in there if he goes.

I for one will be very sad to see him go. Ever since he became our youngest ever scorer I have been so excited to see him play for the first team. Hopefully something changes but if not I agree I think he will be off.

He could do worse than learn from Merlin for 12 months, just sign and apply yourself, as you have a way to go yet, so give it your all.

I would prefer Nasri to go over this lad. I just think Nasri along with a few of our squad dont have the hunger thats needed. Give the guy a chance !!
