Good to see some things never change, no matter what.

Im no structural engineer, but it doesn't take a genius to work out that converting the North stand to a 'Dortmund wall' stand would be a massive ballache. If this goes through, I hope in years to come the east and Colin bell stands are done like the south stand. Having 3 different designs in one stadium will look odd.

I've just realised I'm moaning about our stadium being expanded, were spoilt.

If they make one end into a huge 2nd tier, the atmosphere will be potentially infinitely better than split over 3 tiers.

It's fantastic that the club are considering this, & yet some people are half arsed about it. Then consider the possibility of a future safe standing area.

They read stuff like this & think 'ah it's probably not worh the effort, they're not that keen'.

Ffs get on it.

A bit off topic, but do United still play on a hill?

Not noticed it too much recently, but I remember for years, when the ball went out of play there, the players would have to descend down a 2-3 foot mound to retrieve it!

That's because it's built on a swamp.

Just back from hols so spent a couple of hours catching up on this thread/the expansion...

Great pics, esp from Jrb as usual and interesting info from Worsley... Maybe they're waiting another year for the NS designs so they can see how this 3rd tier works out atmosphere wise...? I like the fact that they're considering different options. My instinct would be to make it 3 tiers all the way around, but one new home tier sounds pretty good too! Although the Sheikh will probably have got bored by then eh?

Can't wait to take my seat on row S in 316 on Sunday. Card was on the doormat when I got home. -) More leg room sounds good. Or is it extra standing/dancing room?

Reckon I'll get in there early rather than do City Sq. Get to know the place. Can't wait to try out the acoustics!

-)

They can't seriously be leaving that gap between the roof and the vents at eaves level in the corners?

They're putting screens below aren't they

There are seats right next to it

Apparently an issue with the mesh that was ordered for the corners. It will be in but not before Sunday

Does anyone else think the extra seats on the front rows look a mess, some are two rows some are three and some havent been put in at all? Does anyone know if they are planning on making it a clean three rows all the way round the stadium?

Are the stairwells being left open to the elements as well?

I asked the other week and was told they would not be but it looks increasingly like they will be and apart from the weather, imagine the amount of bird shit everywhere as the local pigeons decide to call the new stand home every night.

no think - it makes our ground feel more like a football stadium - much closer to the pitch and less of a bowl. They physically cant get a 3rd row in the corners - not enough room.

No - posters put on last night.
