Excellent photos. I can't believe the next time people like myself in Australia will see the inside of the stadium, that third tier will have 6,000 fans in it.

heard a speculative rumour on Sunday (and I do mean speculative as in, overheard 3 guys talking in City Square and I was somewhat inebriated).
The gist of there conversation was that one of them had apparently heard that the people still waiting on City Circle plaques that have been told they will be getting an invite to a special event when they are completed this summer are actually going to be invited along to an event that will tie in with the opening of the new SS 3rd tier and may well be the first to gain a real look around ?

Remember, hearsay from a drunken old man but wondered if anyone had heard anything similar, as I am fortunate/unfortunate enough to be one of those still waiting on the elusive plaques ?

So unless JRB has got access into the ground we might have to rely on those who are doing the stadium tour for photos from now on. It's going to be a long close-season.

Just read the email and it starts this week and will last 12 weeks so finishes at the start of the season.

Same as weeman, nothing sent to me about where or when our 'event' will be.

I would imagine though that pre the season starting we'll need a home friendly to test out the new tier so maybe some truth in what they were saying perhaps a beer and a prawn sandwich at that game?

I've got 2 discs on order and haven't heard a dickybird about this event.

Escaped a b*llocking by the skin of my teeth mind so I'll have to be 'more careful' at the equivalent 'event' this summer

Anyone got a an idea about capacity after segregation next season?

55,000 has been mentioned but then COMs was supposed to hold 48,000 and we only ever got 47,435 (against QPR)

I'm thinking it should be over 55,000. When was the last time we officially got that at Maine Rd? Will be before my time as it was 52k capacity in the mid-70s.

Really looking forward to the first home game. This has probably already been done a few hundred times, but it hasn't registered with me: With no Community Shield, are we having a pre-season opener at the Etihad? (Thomas Cook Trophy)

Promotion against Charlton I remember standing room only in the aisles of even the platt Lane. Must have been over 60k unofficial that day.

Last time I remember official attendance was 63k against Rags 3-3- draw 1971.

The "Event" is 100% confirmed by the club, they just havent told us what the event is ? It could be a refund of your ST given to you by Sergio, it could be a bag of the Blue City Bon Bon's from the store ? Who knows.
