Someone give this guy a box of tissues.
Incredible performance from back to front. Aggressive, technical, quick, sharp, we just tore Chelsea apart move after move. The fact we played our way and were so ridiculously dominant, and got the right result too is incredibly pleasing after the way Chelsea managed to squeeze results out of both our games last season.
In terms of the individual performances I reckon the back 4 all deserve huge amounts of credit both individually and as a group because they gave the attacking players the security and platform to play from.
Toure and Fernandinho were excellent. Toure had to play differently than when we played West Brom, much more intelligent and much more conservative in his attacking movement, but he still looked the best centre midfield player out there by some distance. Made Fabregas in particular look like a schoolboy.
What can I say about the front 4. I realise that Sterling didn't score yesterday but really, his addition is actually our biggest attacking threat. It's completely changed the dynamic of our team because now the opposition cannot mark Silva in particular out of a match. They have Raheem to worry about and it gives Silva the time and space he needs to operate. Thought Navas was excellent on the other side too both in terms of tracking Hazard and Azpilicueta, but also in terms of his attacking movement and play.
Silva and Kun are arguably the two best attacking players in the league. Certainly Sanchez is the only player IMO who is even close to them.
It's early days but I think it's going to take some doing to beat us to the title this season. This poor start which Chelsea are having may yet get worse before it gets better and they could be even further behind in a month or so's time. I don't see in Arsenal or United enough goals to really challenge us. Happy days.
He can be frustrating at times but so are many players. Navas was quality against West Brom and was quality like you said against Chelsea. Works so hard for the team and it goes unnoticed by a lot of fans.Best I've seen Navas play for us, look like he was proving a point, great over all performance, best squad in the league for me.
Looked like he had his football brain switched on yesterday, as you say, his work rate is very underrated by some, like the fact he's lifting his head a bit before putting a ball in now, think he could be someone we got "under the radar"He can be frustrating at times but so are many players. I agree with all of that mate, if I remember correctly he put a nice ball into Aguero's feet yesterday he shot and the keeper made a nice save, on a different day he would of got an assist.Looked like he had his football brain switched on yesterday, as you say, his work rate is very underrated by some, like the fact he's lifting his head a bit before putting a ball in now, think he could be someone we got "under the radar"
Fair play to the guy, it's never easy to admit to a defeat like that! What he said regarding to Chelsea needing to be active in the transfer market is the exact same thing I said last season about us.
Look at the last 3 winners of the league in the last 5 years and each one has gone into the defending season without strengthening vastly in positions that needed it and have paid the price for it!
Don't you think Mourinho had to take Cahill or Terry off? City got though their defence repeatedly in the 1st half. Have you ever seen so many chances in one half against a top side? Their back line is slow. Ivanovic is running through treacle and Terry is pedestrian, but they will probably drop Ivanovic now and bring Zouma in for more games.A bad start for Chelsea is more significant than a bad start by other title challengers. Mourinho's title winning teams always win from the front, go top of the table early and stay there. He's never won a title by making a late run. He hasnt often had to do that, but its not something he's temperamentally suited to doing. When he isnt winning he makes things worse, makes excuses, finds others to blame etc. Alienating the medical staff is one thing, hanging the captain out to dry is another. Last season he might have made exactly the same half time substitution but it would have been explained as an injury.
The title isnt won in autumn but if we can maintain the gap for a few weeks, it could be decisive as far as Chelsea are concerned.
In the cold light of this morning i was just thinking if we had a few decent players we might make top 4.But having read the what the special **** has said i now realise how silly i am.
