Post match thread - City v Chelsea

Kolarov motm for me, brilliant going forward with crosses into the right places and in defence superb. Number of blocks towards end of the game was excellent. Also Sterling is forcing the team forward when he runs and I think this is giving Navas more belief that he can do it as well.

Fuckin brilliant performance. We looked dangerous on the attack and solid once again in defence, but the game was won in midfield and Yaya, Fernandinho and Silva bossed it against Matic, Fabregas and Ramires. 44 fuckin 2 is finally dead and hopefully will never return and today showed we don't need two specialist attackers to rack up a decent score. 2 games played, 6 scored, none conceded, won our last 8 Premier League games which equals our best run ever....... it doesn't get better than that.

Everyone played their part today but a special mention has to go out to Sagna and Kolarov, they were both excellent and Sagna is now providing competition and cover for Zabs who incidentally may find it difficult to remove Sagna if his present form continues. Defensively, we've gone back to basics and our defenders are beginning to look dominant and world class again. Success is built from the back and our last 8 Prem games have proven this beyond all doubt.

Whilst Sterling isn't quite up to speed yet, his speed gave Ivanovic the shits! Chelsea were crapping it every time he ran at them as it caused pure panic in their defence, all we need is for him to settle down and get used to our passing/possession game. He's only 20 so still has years ahead of him to improve his passing, shooting and positional play. Right now I couldn't be happier and my only gripe is that we weren't playing this formation 12 months ago because the whole team now looks happier and stronger than I've seen them for a very long time.

Kompany's performances and his happier demeanour says it all. Finally a word of support for the boss; whether because of pressure from above or because he's finally woken up and sniffed the coffee, I couldn't be happier for him and our new found formation and the fact he's given Maureen one up his arse! :-)

Outstanding city performance today. If we had won by 5 or 6 it wouldn't have flattered us.

Some special mentions. The back 4 were awesome. I've never seen kolarov defend as well as that. The midfield looks much better with silva more central and Fernandinho was my motm. Never let Chelsea play from start to finish. Yaya looks more like the old Yaya and it was great to see Aguero back. Plus the subs made a great impact. Bony strong holding up play and nasri putting in a good shift.

Well done city and well done pellers.
I thought Yaya looked gone at fifty minutes today, and worry that he can't play two games a week now.

Dominant performance. Crowd noisy and passionate. Bacary Sagna is like a new signing this season. I just can't see Zabba getting back in atm. Sagna hasn't put a foot wrong in both our games. Kolorov's delivery in the first half was awesome. World class and led to a succession of chances just asking to be put away. Didn't see Fabregas all game. Not sure how anyone can even compare him with David Silva. The two are on a different level. Aguero's movement and skill just amazing and but for Begovic would have had a hat trick. Don't think were out of second gear yet either. Impressed with Mangala today too.

3-0 and could easily have been six.

Don't want to spoil the party but I m genuinely interested in what Pellegrinis detractors on here ( and there were many of them on here last season) think of him after today?

He got it absolutely spot on again today well done Pellegrini.

Genuinely interested, but looking at our team today, do you think we'd have been better if we'd have played 442, picked Fernando instead of Fernandinho, and asked both full backs to attack at will? You know, like we did last season ;-)
