Sterling much better than Milner agreed. Brings a whole new lease of life to the team.
Otamendi is better than Mangala of last year, so not sure if he is needed.

What makes you think it won't be Kompany sat on the bench?

If we are really going to compete in 4 competitions, we need more than 2 top drawer centre backs. There's a heck of a lot of game time available!

I'm saddened that this will put Denayer's development back, however if there is an opportunity to sign someone the calibre of Otamendi, you don't knock them back on the basis that it may hinder youth. In fact, if anything, he should be loving the opportunity to learn from some top experienced pros.............should bring him on again.

We've got a potential 60 game season. 3 top class CB's will be needed over that period. Mangala just needs to keep doing what he is doing performance wise and don't fall into the trap of thinking Kompany is un-droppable.
To me Otamendi is just a big a threat to Kompany as he is to Mangala.

I also can't remember the last time Kompany had an injury free season.
I also think Otamendi might be a fair few weeks off fitness as he hasn't even been training lately has he? So it could be few weeks before he is really knocking on the 1st team door.
