De Bruyne?

I disagree. Sterling showed fans he wanted to be here by forcing his move out Liverpool (even if he ended up looking like the villain in the process). De Bruyne doesn't appear to want this move, he's happy to watch it all play out. I'm not saying De Bruyne should drop everything in Wolfsburg to come to City and, but at the moment it doesn't look like he actually wants to join us.

Obviously Wolfsburg are looking after their own interest, Kevin and his agent should too. The thing is that this is taking wwaaaaaayyyy too long, Just say you don't want to sell, just say you don't really want to move. thats all.

I'm not ITK or anything...

But i've heard the reason it's taken so long is that there has been some confusion. For the last few months Txiki has actually been negotiating for KPB (Kevin Prince Boateng) rather then De Bruyne. He's only just realised! What a comedy of errors!

Such is life!! Big bad Real Madrid can't get David De Gea from United even after De Gea made it clear he wants to go, his head is turned and the manager benched him even though United want to convince him to stay. That's also a long drawn out saga. But at the end of the day, Real Madrid/fans think they will there man this window.

You said it... De Gea made it clear he wants to go to Madrid. I haven't seen KDB saying that so clearly, he is still playing for Wolsburg, tweeting it is "Match day" and all. Not so sure about it eh?

We are not triyng to buy a house for nothing, Wolfsburg is asking more than 50million for a player a year ago the paid 18million (wikipedia)

I have to admit that i was a bit worried because i knew he'd prefer bayern and could stay one year in wolfsburg on loan then. But i really hope praet's agent (friend of de bruyne's agent) is negotiating him as a replacement. I do think kdb really told by now informally he fancied a move . He's not getting any younger and Bayern is really fully booked now, so city good option for now. Well paid And part of his family lives in england, i'm also sure he would get Chosen above navas.
I don't know about the Praet situation; they might be trying to get Praet even with KDB staying. As I understood it, the fee talked about is 10 million EUR approximately; pretty sure that wouldn't get them into FFP trouble, since wages aren't going to be too high either.

About KDB wanting to leave: As I understand it he wants to leave for a bigger club, but he isn't desperate enough for the move to happen this summer to "go to war" with Wolfsburg (like someone said earlier in the thread, "I want a PS4, but it doesn't matter to me enough whether I get it now or for Christmas to start kicking and screaming"). From what I gather from all the reports there probably was an agreement in place between Bayern and Wolfsburg (more precisely Rummenigge and Winterkorn) that Wolfsburg won't sell this summer and Bayern hence bought Costa instead, with the prospect of bidding for KDB in summer 2016. For whatever reason Wolfsburg changed their mind (maybe your bid was high enough to really "turn Kevin's head", as Allofs has suggested). Now it's all about convincing him to stay for another season. He knows they'll let him leave, he'd prefer to stay in the Bundesliga, the risk is now on him if something unexpectedly happens next season. I'm not convinced signing Praet would mean Wolfsburg would give up on KDB; 10 million EUR isn't that much money for them and signing Praet won't be enough to replace KDB anyway. This will probably carry on until Tuesday.

I don't think the "sell and loan back" option with Bayern is a real option; it would mean Bayern carries all the risk that KDB might have a career ending injury and that isn't the way that club is doing business. But that's just my guess.

We are not Man Ure

Is that how you treat a job interview or a house sale or how you behave at a car showroom?

Please please I am desperate for you to buy my house, I want to sell it today, you can have it for nothing?

Or... I want that car, I have to have that car, I don't want any other car, please please sell it to me....

No.... I suspect not. If De Bruyn has any sense at all he will be playing it to maximise his salary and sign on bonus, he will be making sure he doesn't burn any bridges in case we suddenly get offered Isco or Bale and we go cold or if another club comes in with a better offer.

I reckon Wolfsburg have played it well and will absolutely maximise what they get for us and De Bruyn is playing it smart. Keep your mouth shut in public, don't bad mouth or betray your current employer and possible future employers and don't burn bridges.

Seems a common attitude in this thread that both de Bruyn and Wolfsburg should be putting our interests ahead of their own. If City want him we should push to get him and do what it takes, De Bruyn and his agent should be trying to get the best deal for him, Wolfsburg should be trying to get the most out of selling him they can.

Simple as that.... All this flapping, making emotional not rational decisions is not what any of the parties should be doing!

Half the board wanted us to walk away from sterling when it was t completed for 30m inside a week.

Agree entirely. The fact that KDB has said nothing shouldn't be used to discredit the lad. if anything it shows some maturity and loyalty. The idea that that a player should be publicly fawning over us really stinks of the big 'I am' attitude that's still happening during the downward spiral of those across the road.

If he wants to come here and the deal suits both clubs it'll happen.

The only way i can see this transfer happening is if De Bruyne forces the issue now, if not... for me he is staying.

If he really wants to leave, now is the time to grow a pair of bollocks and admit to the press exactly what he wants. Either he stays at Wolfsburg or he wants to join City, its that simple. If he has his heart set on Bayern, he can just say he is staying for another season without mentioning the Bayern move just to appease Wolfsburg fans on the basis that they know they will be getting another season out of him.

The Bayern moves makes more sense to Wolfsburg as they get to keep him for another season and i really think Wolfsburg will also force the issue in regards to the Bayern move. City have been pushed out to the corner and Wolfsburg do not want to respond to any bids and have for weeks continued to ignore our interest and deny that we made any bids. Its as clear as day that they do not want to sell this season and for everyone involved with their football club, Bayern makes more sense for them. Patrick De Coster would have discussed this with KDB as an alternative option as it is in the best interests of the football club to keep him this season. I really hope De Bruyne wants out this season as City will be the club he may join.

I really think this transfer all depends on Kevin De Bruyne himself, if he stays quiet, there is no transfer to Manchester City in my opinion. His time has come to say exactly what he feels in order to grant his move and decide his own future. Sometimes you just have to put yourself first and go for what you want. No shame in it whatsoever. Its just a shame that i think he will keep quiet and not force the move, so therefore he will stay at Wolfsburg.

Sounds right to me .
On another angle what is the mix in all this in respect of Pep / Bayern / Man City ?
Or am I just imaging an agenda that is not there ?
I find it hard to believe there is not some "jiggery pokery" in all this .
Thoughts please .

The difference is that Real won't meet Uniteds valuation.

And to think we were all hoping he'd be in the squad for the chelsea game!

Another day, another 120 comments......

@Mr_Bundesliga: SportBild: Bayern want to sign DeBruyne & loan him to Wolfsburg for a year. Willing to offer €50m plus Rode and Dante
