Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

From watching La Liga/Europa League last season Sevilla are a neat little side and will punish us if we're below par but if we have realistic ambitions to win this tournament then we should be seeing them off, perhaps comfortably.

What makes you think that we should be beating sevilla comfortably? If barca and real struggle against them then what gives us the right to say we should be defeating them comfortably. Yes with the money spent we should be winning but not comfortably

Agreed. There won't be any breathers, but there also won't be any matches where we think a draw is a relief either. Frankly I'm pleased -- great to see us up against some new clubs. Probably more pissed at the cakewalks handed the rags and Chelsea than anything TBH.
PSV ,CSKA and Wofsburg will be far from a cakewalk for the rags

Sevilla have won the Europa League, 2 years on the bounce, so know how to win in Europe, they won't be easy at all. Gladbach aren't anything special, but when you consider the alternatives (BATE, Gent, Astana, Zagreb, Tel Aviv & Malmo) it's certainly tougher than we would have wanted.
I disagree. The other three will take points off each other. We have never had a better chance of finishing top of our group m

Whilst Gladbach are nothing too special it's reaching the point now where it's harder and harder to explain away our ability to draw tough pot 4 sides as just blind bad luck. 5 seasons in the Champion's League and, Plzen aside, we've always got either the toughest, or one of the toughest, pot 4 sides. Whilst others get sides from Romania, Belgium, Denmark, Israel, Belarus etc we've had Roma, Gladbach, Dortmund and Napoli. When does luck give way to the confusing, convoluted, and easily riggable manner in which TV pairings and the like are conducted behind closed doors?

I watched Gladbach vs Dortmund, they got utterly smashed. Could not string more than a few passes together at a time. Can't see them getting more than about 2 points tbh.

Sevilla are a great side but they've lost Bacca who was their biggest goal threat last year. Juve lost big players, Pirlo, Vidal, Tevez.

We should be confident of topping this group. No excuses.

Saying that spurs are on the same level as sevilla is delusional. Sevilla are a better, tactical version of arsenal. Us and sevilla will go through but will be tricky

We have the 4th best squad in the world (With KDB) and we havent drawn the 3 above us. We easily have the capability to beat any other team presented to us.

Juve are FAR weaker than last year, already lost 1-0 at home.

I think this extends our run of playing either the winners or runners up of the previous competition.
Needs checking

We've strengthened our team (hopefully more once KDB gets his ginger arse here) and we have avoided Barca, Bayern and Real. I think our group is very winnable and it's just nice actually facing different teams for once. I think the rags will struggle in their group.

Not an easy group but if we want to be seriously contending, they are the sort of teams we should be able to deal with. Juventus will most likely be weaker than last season, Seville finished 5th in La Liga and BM are a decent if unspectacular side. We should be looking to top the group really.

next year when we win the league and become a pot 1 side
