As part of the Manchester Football Writers Festival we've managed to organise a debate on the rivalry between City & United. It's similar to last years except this time I'm not neutral - I chaired the event last time but this year I've said I want to focus on City. The other panelists are Simon Mullock, Neil Custis and Simon Wadsworth.

It'll be great to see as many Blues as possible in the audience to support the City angle of course!

There are plenty of great events as part of the festival and I would urge you to also support David Mooney at his event on Wednesday 9th: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/manchester-football-writing-festival-6839756477

Last year's events were a great success, and I'm sure the Manchester derby rivalry evening and David's talk on 1999 will be worth attending. Cheers

What f*cking rivalry?, did not the silly brigade insist that liverpool were their rivals an we were of no consequence ( maybe Swansea are now claiming them as their biggest rivals, helps to pick a team you always beat with ease).

Now is even funnier, chelsea and Arsenal are our rivals while the no consequence label is firmly attached to the swamp dwellers as they slide ever downwards despite the money they are spending.

So it looks like you will have a very quite night as the others will spend most of their time quoting Peter Barnes...Er,um,er

Not going to pretend anyone other than the Rags are our rivals it made them look like complete pricks stating a team 35 miles away were theirs jealousy screamed from the swamp in the 80s.

Hate everything connected with the swamp dwellers and hope a good blue turnout.

Please somebody tell them that our biggest games are now Barcelona and Chelsea, because it's actually true.

It might be worth throwing in how we'd prefer United not to go down under Van Gaal, because Manchester needs two premier league teams.

God how I wish I was going, to sneer publicly and subtly at some of their fans, get them foaming.

I thought Custis said he was unbiased and had no allegiance to either Manchester club?

According to the Twitter advert he's there to represent the rags.

Well the scum have 90% of the media on the payroll that's why the media is like it is

I'll be talking all about City's 1998-99 season.

whilst they will no doubt reply "the season we did the treble....20 times blah blah blah... "
