Are we ever going to hack it in Europe? Five seasons in now, and we're no further on in competing against Europe's elite. I'd rather we won the PL anyway, but it gets depressing seeing the same shite every season in the CL.

Again same story, against big team, lose. Against half decent team - draw or lose. It has to be utter shite the opposition team for us to get points in CL it seems. Embarrassing considering the squad we have.

There's a very good reason why Europe's elite were not interested in players such as Bony and Sterling... they're average.

We have played against dross all season' and when we now play an excellent team we unsurprisingly struggle. We are simply not clinical in front of goal, and in Europe the chances don't come as often, while at the back we allow the forward to muscle in and win ball far too easily.

When we put in Nasri and Bony, we slow way down and lose mobility on defence.

We were poor against palace with these two so I can't see why Navas didn't start.

I think this shows how weak the premier league has become. The teams are nowhere near good enough to prepare us for the champions league. Juventus are in terrible form yet they beat us at our home ground despite us being in terrific form. Utd lost to psv today which further enhances this point

waste of time every yr,playing scared and sideways, just play our usual game

Bony not up to the job

This new site crashes every week ffs

Someone at the club please tell Sterling to start putting his foot through the ball. Really frustrating performance. Fuck knows why if your wearing a city shirt you can't do it in the CL.

Playing Yaya, Silva and Nasri together in Europe is too lightweight for our midfield and we always concede goals when all three play.

Pellegrini has been here three years, he should have realised that.

Fucking hell. Thought we were the better team there, to be honest.

Gutted. Gutted and sick to fuck death of the Champions League.

Fernandinho was class. He was the only real stand out. Bony looked awful. Sterling's miss changed the game. He looks class, but he can't finish for shit, the lad. Kolarov and Yaya back to last season's standard.

No lessons learnt from last season, it seems. Like banging your head against a brick wall.

More worried about the effect this will have on the West Ham game on Saturday.

Oh well, just have to go to gladbach and win,Fernandinho was everywhere just a shame we couldn't get the second when sterling had the chance shortly after we took the lead, but I just get the feeling that the players now have an inferiority complex when it comes to Europe, but to be fair we have always struggled in Europe even well before the on set of champions league...

The fact we were utter shite tonight is a positive in a weird sort of way.

We created by far the better chances and Bony, Silva and Sterling should be embarrassed about the chances they missed.

Even defensively we looked good. We didn't conceed any clear cut chances and were undone by a wonder strike, which came about in fortuitous circumstances, and a hopeful punt upfield.

The this was against one of the top clubs in Europe suggests its a matter of time before we click.

Fern was excellent.

They took their chances and we didn't and wasted ours. Pretty much it.

Need to win all games basically now, considering Sevilla is a very good team. Really needed to win the group this year, which is still possible but we get Barca again from 2nd place.
