Borussia Mönchengladbach travel thread

Had a Brilliant time at the match. Great result. The fan park was a great laugh...if not a little dull at first. Don't think the locals had a clue we were coming. Although we certainly made the local beer shop aware we were there.
The sun, beer, a kids football and some very funny Blues made it a really good few hours before the game. Best moment was when a little German lad in a fake Madrid kit kept giving us the 'bird'.
Think for future reference it could be a good place to meet up if they could stick some goals, a few footies and a couple more bars into the square. I reckon the locals missed a trick to make some brass. Unless they dont give a toss that is.
Really well organised trip with Spike by the way - would not hesitate to travel with them again.

Thanks Monchengladbach it was emotional..
Observations:
The shuttle buses were a nightmare, and resulted in the mass break out by Blues to make kick off. Have to say it was funny to see a couple of hundred Blues marauding through traffic to get there in time. One of our lot got trapped in the door by his backpack and nearly went under the wheels, he's got an arse like a blood orange today! Funny now, but pretty scary at the time for the old boy..
Everyone was pretty scattered all over the place, shame there really wasnt a square for everyone to congregate for a sing-song..
The EDS squad were going through security at Dusseldorf whilst we were. It was noticeable how Paddy Vieira looks after them, no us and them, waited until he saw them all through security before he went through. Top man, and you can see the respect the EDS boys have for him..
Twatface Robbie Savage was checking in as we were, needless to say he was subjected to a lively Q&A about the shit he spouts about our Club, his man-love for Mancini and other random subjects. Owned, fucking owned..
Oh, and great result :)

Like squirty says, the result is just a nice bonus ;)

the old market square in MGB was brilliant ... no bother great bars and fantastic weather
shuttle buses to ground were well done too

Still here in dusseldorf. Just left the Irish bar .not many blues knocking around . but the area is getting lively. Roll on Seville

Not from Rheydt, f**king shambles from there, wasn't the bus drivers fault, but the stupid police escort. We were on one of the buses that had the doors forced open, about 5 minutes before kick off, and still several hundred yards away, and we all walked/ran to the ground, one lad with us didn't have his ticket, needed to get it from someone else, they were waiting at the bus stop, we were ushered in a side gate, I think we all missed about 4 minutes in the end.

Build a new stadium out of town, but don't bother with any infrastructure, like trams or roads, or even a f**king bus lane, Germany well organised ? I understand that gladbach is the exception though, but most of the other "new" stadiums were built/rebuilt where the old ones were, not gladbach.

We didn't have any trouble getting to and from the stadium, took the bus from the gladbach old town directly to the grounds with police escort and then back again after the game to the station also with police escort. Great organising by the Germans and got us there and back real quick

Some must of just been unlucky because ours was brilliant. Sat in Glabach old square until 7:30 then jumped on bus police escort non stop straight through all traffic to the ground. Then even better on way back straight onto bus and away we went, took us straight to station platform where there was a train waiting for us to dusseldorf.

Had no issues in Monchengladbach as @Champions2012! said.
Straight forwards there and back, just a little waiting time before setting off both times.
Drinking in the small square from mid day till bust time was brilliant with the sun shining on the righteous, they ran out of beer by 4pm so on to the dark beer.
Brilliant trip let down by lying UEFA officials and the fucking A1 north. Got off the plane at 3.45 PM back in sunny Rossendale at 11.30pm

The annoying thing was the 2 EMPTY lanes that they weren't using mate. Still, gave us plenty of time to pull out the full repertoire of "old school" songs on the bus.

Bearing in mind the shambles on the buses on the way in, me and my mate thought we'd be clever on the way back to Rheydt, so skipped the cordon and stared to walk, thinking we could jib a bus away from the stadium. How wrong could you be, those buses were never stopping. Ended up walking the whole way to the train stadium, took us 2 hours to walk about 8km, just made it in time to catch the 12:30 train to Monchengladbach, then change trains to get to Dusseldorf. Not the best decision we'll ever make..

hope all the blues on the Stansted flight got home safely last night, im sat in work at the moment absolutely knackered, hadn't factored in the fact that the entire UK road system closes at night.

Thought organisation after the game was good.Directed to the shuttle buses to Gladbach station where it was fast with buses turning up all the time. Got to the train station and train already on the platform waiting to be filled. Was entertained on the train by a group of city fans who decided to sing as many Oasis songs as they could, good trip.
