Good for you!shallyman will be buzzing at all the attention he's getting. If there's one thing I can't stand it's a self-obsessed attention seeker.

Not true, gave the guy next to me on Saturday a big hug after goals three to six whilst sat in the corporate section, having never previously watched a game with him. Although in fairness, I am a 'love the fan you're with' kind of supporter.where the corporates have sanitized the experience so much that you can't even throw your arms around the person sitting next to you when your team score.
A post full of cliches and sly digs yet again.I don't know where you lived in Manchester but the hatred was there all the time from both sets of fans.I would fight rags at school,at the ice rink,in the street and later in pubs and clubs.

Well, I don't know what area you grew up in, but I only lived a couple of miles away from Maine road. My mates Dad was a huge City fan and he used to take us to matches, and the week after I'd go to Old Trafford with my Dad. My old fella had no problem with me going to City matches, and my mates Dad didn't care that I was a United fan. I stood on the kippax, joined in with the funny songs, except the Munich ones! All the way through school, never a problem with City fans. Not until the 2-3 game at maine road when Keane scored the 3rd and I was chased through Birchfields park by some scrotes in shellsuits. Up until that point, I'd never had any problem with City fans and none had had any issues with me. When I was in school, Alex Williams lived round the corner and Paul Simpson lived directly across from my pal Chris. We used to let on. A fella who's son I used to play football with, was a sportswriter for the daily mirror, and I went to Belle vue dogs for his 50th. I was sat drinking all night with Niall Quinn, Tony Coton and Terry Phelan. We ended up in mini bus to Mulligans in Hale Barnes. Bryan Robson and Dennis Irwin were in there, and they were all obviously drinking companions. Tony Coton sorted me out with Derby tickets. Posted them through our letterbox himself, to the amazement of a neighbour who told me he was still in his goalie training kit, but only driving a ford escort. Different times.

If you don't understand the rivalry rules fella, then you're on the wrong forum..Rather manipulatively, you have taken a selection of my posts out of context, when all of them were responses to something your COC would call wumming. It would be much more disingenuous if I came on here and pretended to agree with some of the nonsense that is blurted out on this thread. I don't agree with many of the opinions, so I offer my own POV. I didn't mention Spurs until almost 2 weeks had passed, but when we got beat on sunday there were plenty of bluemooners on here looking for me so they could stick the knife in.
Just about to ask the same question. You say you lived around the corner from Alex Williams Shallyman? You are a Stockport red then?
Point well made there, Ric.It's always tricky when it comes to opposition fans on here. They generally take pelters, but it antagonises people when they respond in kind.
It's the same on any forum though. If you registered on a United or Liverpool forum and were riling the locals, you'd get banned.
It's a shame that you can't really have sensible debate, but it's just how things are.
Personally not that arsed about what shallyman says myself though. I don't take him too seriously.
A normal week in South Wales
I was a season ticket holder right up until May 2013, when we lifted the title and Sir Alex called it a day. And I thought to myself at the end of that season, that I've seen everything possible... Platini, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo (The brazilian) Messi...won every trophy available to a club side.
You know nothing Dari O.
I don't really look at the United forums, they are all a bit of a closed shop, like you need a letter from the pope to get in. I did read a derby thread last year and the majority of posts were pretty complementary about the city players, but that's the distinction I have found. United fans don't dislike City players, or the football club. They dislike City fans. And the reason why they dislike City fans, is because SOME City fans have made it their lives work to destroy anything related to United. It's like a defensive mechanism.

What a load of bollox. You've fallen out of love with football because your teams shit and you can't take it. City fans have had to take shit from you lot for years. Ever since Ferguson bought you your first Premier League title we've had to listen to - "this is how it feels to be City", Bitters, Council House, "Are you City in disguise", Wastelands etc. Now it's our turn to lord it and you lot are playing the football isn't what it used to be crap. United fans have always been shit supporters and now your proving it. Why don't you man up and admit it's time for you lot to back your team through the bad times. You know nothing Dari O.

I have lived in Manchester all of my life, and only moved away this year. And City were never on my hate list growing up. I went to a few city games with my School and even attended the Mark Lillis soccer school. City players lived near me, and we respected them. There was no snide remarks or owt like that. The social club at maine road was the venue for many functions when I was growing up, and it was never a problem. I stood on the Stretford end for over a decade, when we were getting turned over by the likes of Derby County! And I was a season ticket holder right up until May 2013, when we lifted the title and Sir Alex called it a day. And I thought to myself at the end of that season, that I've seen everything possible... Platini, Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldo (The brazilian) Messi...won every trophy available to a club side. I was content, and I thought about those days on the Stretford end, when you'd be stood at the back of the stand and we'd score and like some sort of weird surfing experience, you'd be transported 50 feet on a wave of suspended bodies. It was the best feeling ever, and as I looked around at the Norwegian and Chinese tourists with their selfie sticks and ipads, I knew the game was up. I'll always be a United fan, but all that matchday experience, face-painting, jester hats, fanzones, not allowed to stand up, CCTV, do as your told bollix, I'm not paying good money for that shit. And for some of you older folks on here, it's a crime that your footballing fortunes have changed during a period where the corporates have sanitized the experience so much that you can't even throw your arms around the person sitting next to you when your team score.
Erm...Japanese whiskey aside, Alex lived in the 70's houses behind the D&P on didsbury road. Just behind Parrs Wood playing fields. He had a balcony from his bedroom. My pal Peter lived a few houses down. Used to see him a lot. He came to a Charity event at my school and I took a penalty against him. Paul Simpson lived in the wimpey estate off Burnage lane and used to walk his dog along the monkey path. I used to live off Kingsway in Burnage. Birchfields park was the route I took to get the 50 bus home.
Anyway..what was the point I was trying to make...can't remember?
Nights are drawing in, aren't they? *whistles*
