To boo or not to boo ....

Most players want to play in the CL, they will likely get a buzz from the distinctive music.

IMO booing has the opposite effect of getting behind our team. It's fundamentally negative.

My vote is for it to stop. Let's get behind the team with cheering, applause and singing.

No time for them at all they've continually Stiffed our club at every opportunity, if you give up on protesting your never going to win. Love City F*ck UEFA

But the best way to overcome UEFA is to succeed despite the regular roadblocks they've put in our way. In my mind, we've already won. We've mole-whacked FFP. We're sustainable. We're profitable. We're growing. Whatever happens this year in CL, we're an important force growing the game worldwide. They can't keep us down. Meanwhile, the corruption is increasingly visible for all to see across a number of institutional bodies that govern the sport. We don't need to boo. The farce has been exposed. Let's move on, and win some more.

What exactly do you want to win by protesting?
What has got to happen to stop the booing?

If you want to change something wrong it might be a bit more successful if somebody puts up an online petition which could be subscribed by millions worldwide. I do support your protest but it is not the proper way. Support your team on the stands and care about the other topic on a much more effective platform.

That battle is now won. Time to rise above the small time mentality and show the lads we embrace the CL , now time for them to step up.

We love a good petition on here! Start one on change or somewhere and then put up a thread about it.

I think UEFA have bigger things to worry about than some boos during their anthem. It's completely pointless and achieves nothing!

At the Juve game it was that half hearted it wasn't worth doing. I think it had a decent backing last year and there was some real feeling behind it, now it's just dead. and i never actually thought anybody gave a fuck that we were booing. UEFA would have just laughed at us for doing it...what's the actual point of it? it won't achieve owt.

There was a lot of booing near me v Juventus.

And every time I read the term "small time", I think that person spends too much time worrying about what Red Cafe thinks of us.

I'll join in with the booing again tonight if it starts. It's getting noticed and it's the only real way we have of voicing our opinions of UEFA. All this talk of it having an effect on the players is total bullshit. Firstly, they'll all be aware of what it's about and understand it's not directed at the team. And even if they wasn't aware do you really think these players that have their entire lives broadcast to the whole world are that mentally weak that a bit of booing before the game will have any kind of impact on their performance?

It gets heard, it sends a message and there's no negative impact from doing it. Anybody that allows the "small time" jibes to get to them, are themselves small time. Boo the hell out of it.

I was in the Boo'ing camp but thought to myself: "I'm still in attendance here, what's the point?"

So I've opted out of the UEFA CL Scheme and I will return to watch CL Footy if or when those self serving wankers
get ther house in order regarding corruption.

God opportunity for JCL's to get match tickets as well as i'm not alone in boycotting the CL

Same with me fella, I'll be booing like fuck watching a stream.

It hurts not going to CL games I've done aways in it as well but I didn't join the CL scheme again this year (didn't last season but ended up going to the Munich game which was excellent in the last 30 mins and the CSKA game which was a disgrace on and off the pitch). I tried the Juve game and was underwhelmed again with tourists and Italians all over the shop.

Don't forget there was a fair bit of nepotism involved in the song itself being chosen as the CL anthem.

When i was writing it i thought that aguero hehe, something like "i bet the corrupt tossers chose that tune whilst in an executive lounge with button back chairs and butlers wandering around".

I feel a missery guts having a go at the cl sort of but all the bullshit hung around it's neck now is to hard to ignore. The mental image of smirking rich old men getting wedged for literally doing nothing that any sane person would constitute as work. It can't be that hard picking up brown paper envelopes and a 30min training session ion getting away with white collar crime.

Yea, I opted out of the CL Scheme but did go along to the Juve game hoping for some change but no improvement on atmosphere.
I'm not blaming the club, I just don't see the point in attending the match as one of the main reasons I attend is for the Matchday Experience, and if this isn't present then what's the point?

UEFA/FA/THIEFA all these cunts need to realise Football is nothing without fans.

It was Platini's nephew that wrote it if I'm not mistaken.

If fans stick to their guns frowny faces will start showing and someone will suggest actually listening to the fans. This will of course be met with derision and "pah' type noises muttered from behind a crystal whisky tumbler. Eventually though they will have to otherwise the sharp relief given to the "they don't care about the fans" will be the death of them. It has to be them who fall unless they want to have every stadium empty in 10 years on cl night.

People have really had enough now like Ste has, he has done the last thing they want, voted with his money and fair play to him for it.
I doubt there will be a boycott but if you are pissing your fans of it will show and nobody wants perma disgruntled fans.

@aguero93:20 You are not helping my UEFA based rage sir hehe. Again stuff like that is all jobs for the boys and i despise it so very much i can't articulate it.
They may as well just tell us fans they think we are a load of tossers but please can we have your money.

A kid at a music school should have won a competition for the cl music or you know something involving with us mere mortals. It just leaves a repulsed kinda taste in the mouth, cynical maybe but i doubt anyone else even stood a chance at getting the fee for making that. FFS don't tell me how much the fucker got paid please hehe.

Thought Platinis nephew did the Europa League tune. I quite like the champions league one, and if it was nepotism fair play. Still a good job.

But boooooooooooooooooooo.

George Frideric Handel wrote the CL theme. Obviously not for a competition or game he never heard of ha ha
