Is it time to sack...................................

Who do we send the list of potential candidates to? I've got a big fuck off list here. Do we just PM a mod?

Just done a quick trawl of the forums for the past hour. Sacking the order of the day on Ragcafé (until the dipper result, which made them feel better), on Chelsea Shed forum the noise for Mourinho's sacking is deafening (again, dipper result cheered them up a bit) and last week, after the draw against Norwich and the aggravated injury crisis, lots of calls for sacking of Wenger on Arsenal Mania. No calls for sacking of Klopp on RAWK yet. They're being ultra patient. Above all — no surprise — the invective, the posts, are completely interchangeable between here and everywhere else after a bad day at the office.
Our result made everyone feel good. For an hour or two, a day or so. I think we deserve some sort of prize for community therapy. What goes round comes round.
It's funny. I'm feeling better.
If we beat Borussia on Tuesday, and Seville do the business against Juventus (neither of which is by any means impossible), it will be sweetness and light on here.

It would be good to have the management and Board members at the main entrance chanting "sack the fans" and generally giving Showsec a load of mither.

"We fight for you".

You're shallow like that

Yeah sack the paid fans, and the ones who just come to matches now we are contenders, sitting on the front row moaning about other fans.

I think we moaned and kicked off just as much but there was no internet in those days so it was either down the pub or indoors where few people heard or saw it.

I actually think the fans are better these days....what???? I hear you cry....i will explain. I remember countless times at Maine road when everyone sang ''What the fuck is going on!!!'' and ''You're not fit to wear the shirt!'' Loads of booing, fan's tearing season tickets up on the pitch, mass protests in front of the Main stand. Sure we had less quality players then and we had almost zero chance of winning anything but we certainly raised hell at times. Now when we get the odd spineless performance like against the dippers and Stoke we groan a bit, lick our wounds and go home or to the pub.....then come on here and rant lol!

the fans?

We seem to panic these days if we lose a match, it is as if it is the end of the world. I bet there wasn't this much fuss when we were down the divisions not that many years ago. In those days, with no internet you could go home and kick the cat or get drunk and then next day it would be all over and we would be raring to go again next week.

So now we want to sack everyone except ourselves for not performing well, not looking after the players properly, for not changing the team at the appropriate time............. So maybe we should be sacked for panicking too early or for not singing loud enough or leaving the match early, arriving late..........

Sorry mods, if you think this thread is too frivolous please feel free to delete it but I am just trying to lighten everyone's gloom............ the weather doesn't help does it folks?? :-)
It's not if we lose a match, it's the way we keep losing the same way in such a limp and inept manner making the same tactical and formational mistakes over and over and over. It's getting tedious.

We once went on a run of losing just 13 home games in 4 years, we've lost as many in two and a bit. We once had an air of arrogance and unbeatablity when we stepped out at the Etihad (never mind our current away form), the feel of a club that was genuinely heading on an upward trajectory. Now it just feels like City are standing still while the CFG expands, we're actually going backwards in some aspects.

For me its the complete contrast in performance which frustrates.

We know the standards the team can reach and have seen them out teams to the sword quite frequently so then when we put abject performances in like Liverpool and Stoke it seems quite unforgiveable.

I had a discussion with my mates and yes we have watched some dross down the years but often we had a really poor side, so when we got steamrollered by, for example, the great arsenal side two years on the bounce you could understand it. The manner of the loss to Liverpool based on the fact only Coutinho would get within a sniff of our team does not seem fathomable or acceptable in the same way

Never mind sacking anybody!

I would hire the ex Chelski doctor. At least we would see some talent coming on from the bench!

You can't compare then with now. It's totally different. Back then we could lose most games and still achieve our target - 40 points. The wins were celebrated much more because they were rarer and they meant more. But now, we can't even afford to DROP 40 points, never mind gain them! Dropping 40 puts us on 74 points, which won't win the league. So now it's a complete flip - wins are as trivial as defeats used to be, and its the number of losses that have a bigger say in the outcome of our season. So it's perfectly normal for there to be more of an inquest after a defeat than there used to be.

It's a fair cop ;-)

What have I told you about living in the past?

have to say that's rather amusing, gdm, given his username.

Ouch! Touché… Actually, both gdm's and my own user name refer to seminal events in the past (Sergio's goal = facial hairyness of certain players). So, few of us can claim to live purely in the present and future, as far as this club or anything else in this life goes.

I'm grateful that you place Gordon's facial hair on a par with Sergio's goal. I've always considered you to be a very measured poster.
