Is this the turning point?

That's not as significant as coming from 2-1 down in the Champions League and topping the group. Maybe for some fans, they are not bothered, but for the players the Champions League is very important.

You look at the impact on teams who go out. for some it kills their season and is a huge blow to the club

Hope yer right with that last bit, Marv. At the moment the RagDipperMeedya are merely 'disappointed' with MANUre's exit from the CL. Let's hope it balloons into an implosion.

Last night's magnificent performance was huge in terms of giving the whole club a big lift. I'm pleased for the manager who's every call was vindicated, and I'm particularly pleased for the players who played with fight, aggression and guile.

I've never lost the belief that this is going to be a glorious season. We have being going into gunfights with pop guns for most of the season given our absentees. I feel that we will put a run of form together now whilst re-integrating the likes of Vinny, Sergio, Silva and Clichy. If/when this happens it won't be solely because of last night, but it might look like it come the end of the season.

Can't help but feeling that tonight was a possible 'turning point'. Although the table situation is hardly a disaster, the last couple of weeks have been tough and we haven't played well. A loss (or even draw) tonight could've been devastating and after that first half, things were not looking good.

However, goals for Sterling and Bony that have struggled a little, top of the 'group of death' and an injury situation that will hopefully get better before the Arsenal and Leicester games make me feel slightly more positive about the future. I've been as negative as almost every City fan the last couple of weeks, especially after the Dippers and Stoke displays, but this could definitely be a new start. If we get this team to play at their best at almost all times, we should be able to walk the league (with all the respect to our opponents).

Onwards and upwards, City!
Lets wait until Jan 2nd at least. If we are top of the pile then I think unlike last season we can go on and win the league

Not sure its a turning point but it is part of a slow but steady improvment in our CL performances. We coped well with a very tough group and the disappointment of losing the first home game to qualifying with two games to spare and then topping the group at the end. All in all a very satsifying and enjoyable nights work.

I should add that in a European context this is an important result and good second half performance. Still leaves us well short of the mark but at least we are moving in the right
direction.

Turning point?
Kind of depends whether Pellers puts 3 central midfielders in the team in difficult games.
If he does then maybe, if not then no.

If playing like that in the second half and topping the group doesn't give them confidence to hit a bit of form then nothing will. Perfect opportunity to get 3 points against a team in a bad place on Saturday and build on that confidence too. I still think without Kompany we are a million miles away from being ok defensively though, so for us to really turn the corner we need him fit and organising things at the back because for some reason nobody else seems to be capable of doing it and I gave up on the manager being able to organise the defence a long time ago.

Felt like a mini version of the QPR result to me. 2-1 down, turned it around late on to get the win whilst our rivals (Juve) slipped up & lost out on top spot. Then you top it off with United being through & out 3-4 times over the match and eventually going out - was a good night for us.

Have to consolidate on it though, if we go and drop points at home to Swansea this result will disappear from memory. Another performance like the second half, a solid win & we'll be confident heading into a tough match at Arsenal.

This.

It's not a turning point at all, but it's another step forward toward our eventual goal. Defend like that v Barca or Real Madrid & it's a cricket score against. But for the first time, we got through a game vs a pressing, hardworking side & won with style. that is a step forward.

Hey Blues, the past month or so we have witnessed some shocking performances, injuries and defeats, BUT look at the position we are still in. Three points off top in the league, a very winnable semi final of the CO Cup, and just finished top for the first time in the group of the Champions League.

Pellers has received some fair criticism but i dont think he receive due credit, ok hes had lots of money to spend but look at LVG, he proves just spending doesnt bring success. The injuries weve had have been a major problem, but hopefully that bad luck is over, with Kompany and Aguero set to return soon.

So have we weathered the storm or is it not over? Are you happy with our current situation? Should MPs tenure be questioned? I am happy right now, and feel we need to get behind the team more than ever. Come on Blues!!!!

2 or 3 years ago in the CL we don't turn that result around. They were excellent in that first half an rightfully ahead. We turned that around and scored 3 more and could easily of scored more than that. Every credit to the players and manager and like your said, another step in our development.

Injuries have had a huge impact on the first third of the season. I notice we are treating returning players more cautiously, and that's clearly part of the "bigger picture", because we have had this situation for the last 2-3 years. On the assumption we get Clichy, Vinny, Sergio and Zab back, and don't lose Silva again, then I expect us to go on to great things this season. I've believed that right through this tough patch, too.
