The whole team struggled today and to say Toure had a great game is just deception. Very fortunate equaliser. What did he do that was so great?

Probably the laziest player in the team, but can flip the magic switch at times. Never considered industrious but blimey, he's only 32. Try harder Yaya. You used to be our best player not long ago.
He can't his legs have gone.

We are trying our best to give him a platform to play but its dama
Ra ra ra! Is there any point in discussing the game?

Liability defensively but played a decent game in attack,he made that luck with such a powerful run,he must have been saving that special;-)
From my perspective,id rather he was an impact sub these days.

I absolutely have no idea what game some Blues watch. I despair at some of the shite spouted in this thread. I hope he moves on, as only then will some Blues get to see how important he is to us.
To be honest mate, I think some are stuck on the vision of Yaya in his prime. He will always be a City legend, nothing will change that (apart from a nasty exit, which currently seems unlikely) but he is no where near as influential now as he was or you make him out to be.

I am not lambasting him as a villain, nor praising him as a demigod. He is what he is now, which is a more limited player that requires specific tactics to accommodate. And as time goes on it will become more and more difficult to justify those efforts.

He can contribute, no question, but it is a bit naive to say we'll understand when is gone; we understand what is gone now.

Thought Yaya was one of the better players. By far the best on the ball that's for sure. Some good footwork and a few decent interceptions.

Fair enough. I wouldn't question his ability on the ball. It's his engine. He tried a couple of runs but they did not come off, and he was off the pace when they had the ball which is a continual problem. I'd play himin games like these, and in Cups but gone are the days when he's win games for us on his own. Squad player now.

I think none of our players were crap. They were pretty ordinary, playing a very ordinary team and making them look better than they are! Whenever there is a team in poor form, waiting to be battered, we put together a very ordinary performance. The Swansea goal at the end was the Christmas gift of all Christmas gifts. Thank God today was one of the days where he pulls the rabbit out of the hat!

Who did play well? They were pretty much all crap bar one or two. I just thought he contributed more than some others.
I think people incorrectly take a very individualistic/simplistic approach to performance assessment at times. He may have looked better at certain points but other players' performances can be (and I my opinion were) affected by his lack of defensive focus. The first half Fernandinho was everywhere, not because he wanted to be but because he had to be. Which meant he was forced to play a role where his other attributes would not be on show. Same in some ways with the centrebacks (though, I do think Mangala was generally poor, regardless). Accommodating his current shortcomings creates stress points elsewhere which sometimes significantly impacts our play, as I think it did today.

Swansea were able to dominant large parts of the match and made several very, very good chances that Hart had to stop. And they did so primarily due to our lack of control in midfield.

He's lazy, prolly because he's seen everyone who makes any effort get injured so thought FOOK that!

Was lucky with the deflection today.

which actually got worse when Delph came on so why was that? For me it's more that the manager just can't organise them and the team as a whole are too lazy in closing down especially from the front with Bony being the chief culprit.

I don't agree it got worse—I actually think our control markedly improved (and I imagine our possession statistics, however dubious, would bear that out). But, either way, that is not an argument against my assertion, nor would Pellegrini's faults. All of those things can be true simultaneously.

Weird how we still have that 'problem' when he doesn't play though. Vs Spurs and Vs Stoke he didn't even play. It's a team problem and always has been. We just don't work hard collectively without the ball.

And the reason he isn't a squad player is because he's twice the player of Delph and the absolutely dreadful Fernando.

I think you deserve a
handshake. Your post was well thought out. One more thing - people attribute the winning goal to luck and I'm like are you kidding me??? I guess finding your way
to play a sumptuous shot amidst 3 Swansea players was lucky. I've seen more commendation for the deflection than the actual move that the deflection benefited from. And you know what ithink? The deflection had more luck about it than the run, movement and shot that it rode on.

Great player and the amount of times he has got us out of the shit over the years is well documented and he did it again today. Miss the link up play when he is not in the side. Obviously we need to start planning for his succession but at the moment we have nobody to replace him.
