Club Badge (merged)

tbh i dont mind the rose being on it, its on the coat of arms and if you look around manchester, rylands library, cathedral its on lots of different things. not sure how it would work in the design though

Because what is to be released on Boxing Day was effectively designed and selected possibly months before the consultation process even began maybe!

Perhaps the process was just a gimmick to validate the change!

You now, rather like a Mugabe election type thing!

Esquer shat on that 'Shield core design' we like though ... saying "Manchester City deserve something more spectacular" ... his opinion, fair enough. But it's the 'Designer vs City fan' problem, who knows best?

only logical thing i can be arsed thinking about at this late stage. not saying i like it. my personal opinion is the rose shouldn't be there, but i'm in the gerneration where we've never been in Lancashire, so i dont associate 'My City' to it.
 
Thinking outside the box a little, what if the 3 lines for the rivers were horizontal under the ship? Would make sense a ship actually sitting on water, then the rose under that like the 80s badge, 18 on one side of the circle, 94 on the other side.

Maybe the 3 rivers would be the wavy ones you've included (3 of them), and the rose would be central and larger on the field of sky blue in the bottom half of the circle, eliminating the three diagonal lines representing the rivers?

Anyway, GiG, let me add my voice to the chorus of thanks for your fantastic mock-ups. You are really talented, obviously enjoy what you do, and I for one check this thread more than most others solely to see your creativity. Cheers and happy holidays!

imagine the horror if they shoe horned the lot in a shield like this bag of shite.

I still think it will be like the original badge from 30's with a rose replacing the dot at the bottom and 1894 between the ship and rivers.
 
I'm just hoping that the rose is quite subtle, say on one of the sails. If not I've got a feeling it's going to look horrendous.
