2016 home shirt first peak with (not the) new badge?

Nah, those le coq kits were wank

I beg to differ. This is still one of my all time favourites:

Im too old and too fat for replica kits these days but navy sleeves?

Really?

I'm just puzzled as to how all these city fans in this topic manage to watch the football with such shit eyesight.

I'm all for equal rights and believe blind people should also be involved with Football but fucking hell.... That OP is obviously fake as it uses the fucking badge with the Casey ball that Gav designed and also doesn't include the 1894.

I don't think anyone believes that picture is genuine.

But there's been a few different sources saying we're having navy sleeves.

I sincerely hope it's not happening, but there's no point getting wound up about it, the club is going to let Nike do whatever they hell they want with the kits.

They knew the blue shorts were going to be overwhelmingly unpopular, but they let them do whatever they wanted. Apparently they are coming back next season too, and white socks too. There's been no demand from the fans for this, it's just down to the ego of the designer.

Same with navy sleeves, the club knows these will be monumentally unpopular with City's core fans. The problem is, they don't really give a toss.

If it's navy sleeves we should organise a boycott of the new shirt. The very least we should do is get a fans' petition organised and hand it into the club. Don't understand why it just seems to be us who gets our kit pissed about with. We shouldn't stand for it.

To be honest, you're the last person who should be questioning fellow posters given the amount of sheer bullshit you spout in every forum on here.

well, they were so wary of a backlash over changing the badge that they went for the consultation. If we cobbled together and made some noise then I think they may consult a bit further.

If the leaks come true we can have an unofficial fan kit "consultation" and maybe we can have an extension of the 1894 group to make our point.

I really, really fucking hate Nike.

I don't think any other top club has our traditional colours fucked around with like us.

You'd never see Arsenal in red shorts, Liverpool in white shorts, Real in Navy shorts. Chelsea in white shorts, United in red shorts - etc etc.

It's really fucking irritating to me.

To go with all those rumours that we're going to have blue shorts again next season, with a the kit having a Navy trim, this shirt has really upset my stomach.

Fucking hope to God that is a fake.

That is not Manchester City, at all.

Fucking grim. Fuck Nike.

About time it was recognised that we're not a fucking no mark tinpot club with no heritage or tradition, these fucking shitehawk marketing types seem to think we're just some blank canvas they can do what they please with. Pisses me right off.

But we did see Arsenal in a maroon Nike kit

that was because it was their last season at their ground highbury and their original kit was maroon

Precisely.

A complete one off sentimental kit to mark the final season at Highbury.

Ours are completely fucked around with every single year now, every kit almost indistinguishable from the last. Growing further and further away from what represents a traditional Manchester City kit every season.

Really getting under my skin now.

Absolutely.

But for now let's chill for a moment, it may not be real (that we get navy sleeves).

And btw if there's anyone from the club reading this, we don't want white sleeves either. The 06-07 effort was Awful as well eand that even had our right colours

How fucking difficult it is to give us a solid sky blue shirt and white shorts?

Wasn't that bad the black top was nice, maybe if they'd had the same colour scheme for the home kit.

I have waited a long time for the chicken to die & I thought victory was ours; so why I am not surprised City could mess it up with this abomination. If the sleeves are navy, no sale. No sale of any merchandise until the will of Nike is no longer done. I was already planning a major buy across the board for next season because of the new old badge but that is that. Fair enough.

Well at least the home shirt was blue and white I give you that.
I didnt like the black away too much either it had something stupid in the belly but imo with away kits you can be more 'experimental. It's the messing around with the home kit that bugs me

Agree with every single word.

@JoeMercer'sWay mate, we made noise last two times the club gave us blue shorts. The problem is, the club don't care what the traditional fan's view is on our identity.

When the revealed the Coventry kit last year with Coventry sky blue shorts and no white in the kit for the first time in our 120 year history, there were dozens of people off here who emailed the club.

We all got the same stock reply - "We will pass your feedback on to Nike."

So it's one of two things, the club is either unwilling or unable to influence Nike producing a kit that completely disrespects our identity, history and core fan's wishes.

Whichever one it is, it's completely unacceptable and wouldn't happen at any other top club.

I'm convinced there will be a Cityzens consultation on the kit next year. What's the best way to ensure the most fans engage with the consultation? Produce a kit they hate and will rally around to change.

How do you produce a kit the fans hate? Tear up the history books, give us Coventry's shorts, Chelsea's socks and throw some navy blue sleeves on for good measure, that should do it.
