Worst individual performance

Not his fault and I know he's a true blue but I remember a game Richard edghill played where absolutely everything went wrong for him. He left the field at half time in tears.

The Kippax roasted him that day.

He had a valid reason. His confidence was very fragile and he was a fairly limited footballer. That's perfectly forgivable, in my view.

I used to think, "If we don't win today, I hope he at least has a good game". I cannot remember another footballer I used to genuinely feel sorry for.v

@2sheikhs Was it Coventry at home? He had a few stinkers towards the end of his City career, bless him, but for some reason Coventry at home seems to stick in my mind.

Yes, I'm almost positive it was Coventry at home. Just looked it up. August 26th 2000: City 1-2 Coventry. Edghill scored an own goal and Bellamy (who, as right back, Edghill was probably meant to be marking) got their second on the stroke of half time. Edghill left the pitch in tears at half time, and I don't think he returned for the second half.

I didn't boo him, I just felt sorry for him. A true blue trying his best.

Incidentally, Horlock got one back for us with 12 minutes, but an equaliser never materialised.

The good old days!

Trying to think of sendings off which lost us a game we could have won:

Balotelli v Dynamo Kiev. Europa League Q/F . Sent off for a high challenge on the touchline

It was Coventry at home and poor Edghill had one of those days when nothing went right and he was absolutely roasted by a young on fire Bellamy. He was on the whole a quite steady performer for us in his time here but the crowd slaughtered him that day I am ashamed to say.

There was a young lad Royle brought on in a match at Maine Road. Not 100% sure but the name Ray Kelly rings a bell

He lasted 20 mins before being hauled off he was so bad and was never seen again

Was it Rae Ingram you're thinking of?

Can't remember if it happened to him, but around that time Lee Crooks definitely came on as sub and got brought off again. Me and my mates refer to it as being "Crooks'ed"

Ray Kelly it was. Televised game at home to Huddersfield. He was completely out of his depth.

The name kind of rings a bell, but I can't really remember him.

On that one game wonder note though, what was the name of that centre half we bought from Southampton? Steve Wigley told Pearce he would be a future England captain, he played against Wigan and was absolutely diabolical!! Think he went on to have a fairly decent career in the Championship?

Matthew Mills. Apparently Wigley was asked of any Saints youth talent worth poaching. Mills was the call, not Walcott, Mills.

He did have an average Championship career.

Two spring to mind.

Machin fielded Gerry Taggart at right back away at Blackburn in April 1989 - the day of Hillsborough. A slow, lead footed, all left foot centre half at right back against Scott Sellars who promptly arse raped him and we were stuffed 4-0. All 4 goals came via Taggarts side of the field.

Javi Garcia away at Wigan Dec 2012 - he lasted 50 mins and was that bad he held his hands up as he went off. Milner came on and we turned 0-0 into a 2-0 win shortly after.

Fernando against Middlesborough in the FA Cup last season gets a dishonourable mention, as does every City player in the 2013 FA Cup final.

I would blame Mel "personality" Machin for that to be fair although it was shocking. He kept kicking the ball over the stand with his left foot as he was facing that way.

Other contenders would also include David Brightwell in the derby who got a similar arse rape,Benjani coming on as sub v united in the LC semi and walking about as if it were a friendly but pride of place for me goes to Ronnie Ekelund coming on a as a sub at MR.I honestly thought that some pissed up twat from the Kippax had managed to blag his was onto the pitch.Full kit wanker.

Can't remember the game but Stephen Jordan had a nightmare on one of his first games for us. His lack of pace was unbelievable and got skinned every single time and the opposition sussed it and kept playing in down his side.

Robinho at Spurs in 2009, I think (I am terrible with years). Think it was a midweek game. It may have been Hughes' second to last game in charge. Robinho's performance was the most pathetic I have winessed by one of our own.[/QUOTE

That was the match when Huddlestone kicked him deliberately way behind the ball after about 5 minutes. the ref had a quiet word but didn't even book him. Everything was wrong that day though from manager down.

I'm going to go with Frontzeck away at Palace (Selhurst Park anyway, so it might have been Wimbledon).

David Brightwell away at Spuds, although it was Reid that played him at centre half just before the sacking...also Edin at neverton 2 years ago, i dont think i have ever been so frustrated at a city player in my time watching us..truly scandalous although there were plenty worth a mention, he stood out, if you like... There have been literally hundreds over the years though and also some blinders too.
