Robinho away at Portsmouth. I remember when I was really young being taken to be a game by my dad. It was the middle of winter and I asked him why the players weren't cold in just shorts and t-shirts. He said they kept warm by running around. Robinho must have been bloody freezing that night.

I was going to put David Brightwell in the derby as a joke in the OP because he didn't even play that day!

It's one of the great City myths that he did. Kanchelskis scored a hat trick, but it was actually Phelan at left back, first game back from injury I think.
 
Mike Quigley at home against Sheff Weds and playing out of position against a mesmeric Chris Waddle.

Waddle was at the top of his game and anyone would have struggled. Not just a young kid, out of position, and playing at a level above him. Circa 1992

I was only 14 at the time, but I remember Vonk and Phelan being the stars of that horror show. I blame 442 ;-)

There is a game that's stuck in my memory regarding Brighwell but I can't place it.

With regards the topic, no where near the worst we've ever had but I remember Lee Peacock's debut and saying to my mate, he'll never score a goal for us, he never did.
 
Savic at Anfield in the Cup semi final. They targeted him all first half. I thought he was going to start crying. Really felt for him. He never recovered from that.

The Goat said that when he met the players for the very first time, the first thing he asked was "which day do we go out on the piss" lol

I can still see him gliding past him,its the game we lost 2-0
 
Who was the full back who Machin played at right back at Blackburn...a left footed full back playing right back and he got mullered, and we lost 4-0.
dont think it was david brightwell..was it?
Same day as hillsborough.
