Which would be worse?

I will gladly risk losing to Liverdrool in the final, for the (more likely) chance of beating them 1-0 in the last seconds of added on time, with an offside goal (allowed) scored by Raheem Sterling.

Oh joy of joys...

Obviously I've no love for Everton and losing to them on Wednesday would hurt, but at least you could get home quickly and forget about it. Traipsing back from Wembley after a defeat isn't a pleasant experience, if Wigan in 2013 is anything to go by.

Everton are the people's club in Liverpool and Goodison Park is more unique overall. Liverpool are all North Wales, Northampton and Norway in terms of active support.

Wigan was especially bad because so many Blues made complete cunts of themselves that day from the Pellegrini chant to attacking those of us who dared criticise the attitude of City overall.

It was just playing and losing in the manner we did at a Wembley Cup Final.

What a negative topic! Choice of two defeats?

You're not answering the question though. You're answering the question "Would you rather lose to Everton in the semi of make the final" which is clearly a no brainer. The whole premise of the question was that winning the trophy wasn't an option, we either lose in the semi to Everton or we lose in the final to Liverpool.

For me I'd take the semi final loss every single time, I hate the red scouse far more than the blue, their fans would be unbearable, as would the media wankathon that would follow. Plus, having been to the Wigan FA Cup Final, travelling all the way down to the shitehole that is Wembley, with the cost and the time it involves, just to lose, is no fun at all.

We're probably going to lose in the semi to be honest. The media's already decided they want a merseyside derby final and that's what the refs will give em.

Hard one, but to witness Everton players celebrating a win to reach the final would be worse for me. hate it when that happens, spurs and boro Spring to mind recently.
Hope we edge it Wednesday and batter the pool in the final.

I flew in from Portugal (after a 400km drive to the airport) to see the Wigan final... and then all the way back again...

Don't talk to me about fun...

If the statement I prefer to "risk losing to Liverfilth..." doesn't answer the OP's question then I can't be of much help to you... sorry.

Don't forget the enormous downpour just as we left the stadium. By the time I got to the pub I was soaked to the skin.

Losing to Everton would be bad. Losing to Pool would be unbearable. After the last disaster, I got tons of email for a week basically saying, "49 million and he's sh-t!" I wouldn't sign on for a week next time.

Ric appears to be starting a lot of threads recently. Trying to get his post count up?
