Motability was,is and never has been a gravy train or a racket,sure just like anything else a small number have taken the piss,compare that to the corporations paying sweet fa in tax,some politicians fleecing us for all they can get the amount of money wasted by bureaucratic cock ups and any flaws in the motability system pale in to insignificance.
When I was kid it was usually war veterans who were given a three wheeled deathtrap which made a reliant look like a rolls royce,they were single seaters meaning the disabled always travelled alone.
Thankfully motability came along and enabled families and carers to travel with those eligible,it's never been easy for just anyone to get a free car,your comments are symptomatic of those who always regard some getting something for nowt and smacks of a little jealousy rather than being glad that motability was so forward looking an idea which has given some form of independence to thousands.

Elaborate... As I said they are not free. The vehicles are leased, a deposit is usually required (was in my case) and you pay £53 per week. Of course this is taken from benefit.... So some may say that is free I suppose

exactly mate - I am sure 100% of the recipients of a "free" car would much rather be free of diabilities and not have to claim for the support the car brings them. Its just Urmston trolling again.

As someone who takes every opportunity to highlight abuse of the benefits system I assume you've reported him to the DWP then?Motability was a racket that got out of hand.
It became very easy indeed to qualify for a free car. My dad was told he'd qualify for one 20 odd years ago because of a very minor disability which hasn't stopped him being fully mobile either then or in the years since.
There's a fine line between presenting an alternative view and trolling other users to get a reaction. You crossed it with your last post and you will suffer the consequences. You are the new BB2.0; occasionally you make some interesting and funny points but far too often descend into puerile attention seeking and trolling.
For the first 16 years of our sons life we were positive about his abilities and life chances and that carried on into the form filling.
I didnt realise how naive we were being by having that attitude TBH.
His transition at 16 fro DLA to PIP happened and we were advised to be honest about his limitations and,with his future dealings with the DWP and ATOS in mind we completed the form and were honest.
The decision came back and not only is Ryan in receipt of the highest rate of mobility (that's needed to gain Motability car) he has that in place for the maximum 10 years.
I cannot comment on anyone else's situation but I know that being nice, positive, and simply believing we would get what we were entitled to has cost us tens of thousands of pounds and limited our son's opportunities to socialise.
So when told to be BRUTALLY honest and take your worst day as the yard stick I would implore that you do just that when engaging with this process.
If you do I firmly believe that you will get what you deserve.
However, if you hold back through embarrassment or, as was the case with us, because you dont want to seem negative about your kid, you cannot blame the system or those managing it.
As the saying goes, honesty is the best policy.

My comment was in respect of reading about the experiences of decent, honest people being treated like shit by a society that is systematically failing to take proper care of those in need.
