Kolarov was bad but no need to single him out today ....plenty of competition for shittest player on the pitch

Probably a good thing Silva out next week, he's been poor for a while now....pains me to say that
He wasn't bad, he was fucking atrocious... Time after time he misplaced crosses with the prime example being when we had two players in the box and he put the ball yards behind them.

His shots (loose description) were bloody miles off

He had a total shocker

Point is mate, look what we could of won, it could easily be champions 2 out of the last 5 seasons, if we were all that and going well, we wouldn't need pep, we are currently playing shit, this is a post match thread and as such you are reading we are shit. It's not a last five seasons thread, it's about today.

I'd beg to differ in that Pellers is what 62-63? So we would need a new manager sooner rather than later. If we can get Pep rather than Wee Davie why not? Look at where we have come from - unless you're a Jonny come lately you'll know we couldn't have dreamed of 2 titles out of 4 or even 5 seasons not so long ago. We are not entitled - nobody is. Isn't that what we tell rags? Yeah we aren't playing as well as we would hope- injuries- players coming back from injuries - players not good enough and some rank bad buys all play into it but you know what? Thats sport - thats football - if you want to be able to just buy players and guarantee success and hoover up trophies then I think thats a different sport to be honest.

Today wasn't great. Looking at our history yesterday was fucking awful up until about about quarter to midnight and tomorrow - who knows? Thats why I am a City fan - I am along for the ride and have been since 1966.

There is nothing wrong with the principle of playing your slower full backs against the fast wingers. Most of the time you will find that the slower full backs will be more defence minded and be more tactically astute. However, we seem to have the opposite affect. Our slower full backs are the ones with the attacking intent which means that Zaba and Kolarov were often caught out of position when Leicester broke. That's why it was crucial to play Fernando in there. Having a natural DM would have allowed us to be more wary of the counter attack.

We are also looking dreadfully unbalanced with Yaya in this side. A few seasons ago Fernandinho was easily able to make up for his lack of defensive contributions. However, now we are having to play 2 CMs to accommodate him. Delph and Fernandinho both offer almost zero attacking intent in the role they played today. We then have Silva who is reluctant to shoot and Sterling who is hardly the most prolific player we have. The only goal threat we had today was Aguero and as a result Leicester just marked/kicked him out of the game. It was that bad that we could not even string two passes together at one point.

Against Spurs we should go with:

------------------------------------------------------------ Hart ---------------------------------------------------------
Zab-------------------------- Sagna ------------------------------- Otamendi -------------------------------- Clichy
------------------------------------------------------- Fernando--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------- Fernandinho ----------------------------- Delph ------------------------------------------
Iheanacho ------------------------------------------Kun ------------------------------------------------------Sterling

Just keep it tight and hit them with pace. The front 3 should be able to roam and have a free role as the midfield can defend deeper.

That side makes complete sense but I bet you we don't see it because we have a manager who never learns from his own glaring mistakes.

Why for stating the truth?
Are you happy with what he has shown in the last 6 months?
Wake up!
You said you wished he was injured - that makes you a shit poster and a shit fan.
I'm more than happy with his season so far. He'll get better and better and I'll be fully awake when it happens.

I feel like there is an arrogance about Pellegrini and he would prefer to lose than win playing "negative" football.

Against Sunderland we were just as bad as today IMO. The difference being that we got a lucky goal and benefitted from Sunderland's poor finishing.

You would think that the fact that we are so open defensively and have a piss poor attack would make Pellegrini mix things up. It's funny but the only time we look like a balanced side is in the FA cup.

But that's against sides who weren't bothered so I don't use those as a yardstick.

This entertaining football is a myth anyway. We haven't been that entertaining for 18m bar a few games. I don't find shit defending and slow ponderous attacking play entertaining.

Pellegrini just isn't a good coach or manager. We spent £140m in the summer. We are worse than we were before. That's poor.

Yes I know, but it's true. He really needs to step up, but after 6 months, I haven't seen anything to get me remotely convinced, that we've bought a top player/ potential top player.

Problem is, with the players that are out injured, he'll be in against Spuds.

I predict that he'll get pushed off the ball, run into trouble, not use his pace to beat his man and either under hit or over hit simple 5/6 yard passes.

Dreadful purchase!

not really interested in an opinion from a 'fan' who wishes one of our players was injured.

you're talking pure bollocks anyway.

Sad to say but i knew this would happen. Money plays a massive part in football in fact too much so. I will go as far to say if i did the same thing, by under achiving in my role and anyone else for that matter i would be sacked or disciplined. Not good enough.

Bloody hell! I'd rather watch City play football than watch a Pellegrini interview!

Sorry but he talks absolute shit - this guy does not even deserve to wipe Mancini's boots. As others have said an absolute fraud who got lucky with Mancini's team. I just count down the days until he is no longer at this club and good riddance.

Dejavu of last season

I think it's a general City attitude problem. We know we're good, but we almost expect every team to adapt to us, and we just carry on playing like we always do. It's a tad disrespectful and we come unstuck far too often doing so.
Most top teams have a bad day at the office, and in isolation, you might be forgiven for thinking this was such an occasion. Sadly, it's no such thing - this is a fairly consistent pattern in much the same way as Arsenal continue to fail to strengthen. Time and again we make similar mistakes. Overrun midfield, pitting Yaya against a high energy and damn fast opposition. It's asking for trouble.

There are some mitigating circumstances, such as injuries and heavy fixture schedule, but it's clutching at straws as a defence for today's performance (and others like it).

I fear for us against Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal, and I dare say Chelsea could be problematic too. Why? because we already know that they will up their game against us, and their workrate will be phenomenal (running on adrenalin). I can't remember the last time I saw us truly put in a phenomenal amount of effort.
Our ability is seriously hindered by the lack of endeavour. We get away with it 80% of the time, but it's not going to be enough to win this league this season.

I would rather we didn't have anybody injured, but yes, between him and KDB, I would rather Sterling.

KDB can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and make an immediate impact. He is dynamic and has a football brain, similar to David S. He can also play in deferent positions and put in top quality performances.

If you're happy with what Sterling has produced, then you're the type of shit happy clapper fan we don't need. In fact, we do need you, as we have to pay big wages to our £50 million pound average player.

Wake Up! A large proportion of the stadium is saying and feeling the same.

If it were up to me Pellegrini would be sent packing tonight.

I could argue until I'm blue in the face about how poor a manager he is. Many fans on here will back Pellegrini and come up for an excuse as to why we are underperforming. Yes we have been unlucky with injuries, we do have a busy schedule and some individuals have under performed.

That said, my biggest criticism of Pellegrini and one that no one can defend is our inability to play as a team.

Three years he has been in charge with the same core players in the squad. We haven't had wholesale changes like some other clubs, nor had to adapt our style. We should have kicked on after our first title win under him but instead we have badly regressed.

Look at Leicester today. Everyone in that side knew what their role was. Whenever then were under pressure then used Vardy as an outlet. It was effective and it worked. Every player in that Leicester team trusts one another and that is why they are top of the league, and fully deserve to be there.

You look at us and we play like a team of strangers who do not trust each other. Rather than play a quick and attacking pass to Delph, Silva would rather hold onto the ball and slow us right down. Instead of letting the midfield track the runner, we have Otamendi leaving his position and diving in. Instead of playing it quick to Sterling and putting him one-on-one with the full back, we slow it right down so Kolarov can overlap and cross it into the box where there are 5 Leicester players and Kun.

It is the managers job to get us playing as a unit and for that alone Pellegrini has failed.

Lol. I'm in 308 and that part isn't saying anything like that. Come and see for yourself the next game and we can discuss how shit a fan I am X
