Someone who is well connected at the club, they used to house youth players including micah, has told me pep has requested dvds, dossiers and data on several academy players with a view to bringing them into the first team. Players like celina, angelino, the 2 garcias, brahim and others. This would seem to go with what we know about pep, that he likes to prepare. The way the team played yesterday, pellers could do far worse!

This is only one of a number of reasons we should all be excited for the next three years - Forget all the negative press, media hype about our club we will see high intensity, young players, great tactics and the odd marquee signing. Hopefully Pep's philosophy will be the blueprint to go alongside the amazing academy we have already. Manuel was/is only a stepping stone. Pep will take us to the level of the three best teams in the world namely Barca, Real and Bayern. One task this year CL qualification, forget the quadruple nonsense.

You get the point thouh? Pedantic sod :-)

Haha yeah. Planchart was actually in the crowd when we beat them 6-0 a few years back in the UEFA Youth League if I remember correctly.

Not really sure who will be coming out of our youth into a Pep team. With Hojberg and before him Busquets at Barca the obsession with them was based around their ability to consistently find the right pass to fit his style rather than the most attacking or most skillful pass. Nobody particularly stands out to me as that player in our youth teams, I like Byrne for that type of game before he went out on loan and haven't followed him much outside of reading things from @twosips when he mentions him. Know Cambuur are struggling a bit over there.

fail to plan, plan to fail, seems normal given the amount of time there is before taking over, and with his meticulous nature leave no stone unturned

Thanks for the info, certainly ties in with Pep's detailed preparation and such.

Carles Planchart eh, any other names he will bring i should start to learn a bit about ?

I will be honest i am still stroking myself over the news, so anything besides staring at his gruffly shaved head is secondary atm xD

We have a bunch of defenders who might fit the bill, if, they can stand up to the rigours of the Premier League.

Most of the kids are decent at looking after the ball though & could improve with the right opportunities, so it might be purely down to which ones raise their game & which ones botlle it.

Before we hand the DVDs over to Pep, maybe Pellegrini and his team could take a look at them.
Some of these youngsters could show some of our senior pro's, just what a bit of decent high energy and desire can do.

Manuel Estiarte is his main man. He actually had no football experience before meeting Pep, he was instead a Olympic Waterpolo Champion and is supposedly a legend in that field. He keeps being given strangely titled jobs from "Head of External Relations" to "Personal Assistant" and loads in between. He seems to be Pep's closest confidant when it comes to how to people manage and he often acts as a media shield, where many people both internal and external to the club (but outside the playing staff) need to speak to him to get to Pep.

It's more a person who can work in his rotational midfield system rather than a ball playing centre back and they generally have to be exceptionally intelligent when it comes to tactical awareness.

Secret lover perhaps!

I like the name Estiarte, name suggests he can make problems disappear..into a shallow unmarked grave.
He can take over from Cousillas as chief "problem solver".

isn't this in the Sunday People today, says he has instructed city to send match dvd's and player analytical data so he can hit the ground running. Pep will know before the end of the season who will fit into his system. He's simply assessing the tools at his disposal before making a transfer strategy, it wouldn't surprise me if we have found players for every position so if pep decides he needs a specific position we are ready.

Yep, i saw that but my mate says that the info he has requested is of youth players, not the senior squad. So u18s upwards.

I forgot the quadruple nonsense quite some time ago, and the treble. I only forgot the double and the single about 2 months ago

Pep seems like he's his own problem solver lol

In the white is the guy who will take over Cousillas, Domenec Torrent and in the black is the aforementioned analyst who is probably sat watching tapes of us and our youth teams all day long
