Was yesterday our worst defeat of the post takeover era?

It was definitely up there.

I think if the defeat was a one off, it could be overlooked, but we've now been outplayed by Leicester, Tottenham and Liverpool in a similar manner and look like we cannot deal with any of the top teams. Right now, I really worry about next Sunday and from potentially going top, winning the league now seems a very very tall order.

Don't forget Stoke and West Ham

It was awful. Probably the worst because of the sheer expectation to make a statement. Those 5 straight wins no goals conceded feel a loooooong time ago.

Thanks for reminding me! For all the sentiment about Pellegrini and despite the injuries it's ridiculous to think that we could easily have been on the end of a five goal defeat at least four times this season. That's how bad we've been and despite still being in contention for four trophies we will have to play some good sides to win them. At this rate I'll be pleased with the League Cup.

Yesterday was no shock for me. Let's have it right we have not beat any of the fellow top 6. We have 3-4 world class players (Aguero, de bruyne, Silva and Vinny) some decent players and some who are not up to it. What worried me yesterday is the fact they made us look old. We play like that again next Sunday and Spurs could score 4 or 5. Guardiola has a massive job on his hands.

I would rather lose at Sunderland 1-0 every year for the rest of my life than have Pellegrini stay another week.
I would rather draw at Stoke 1-1 every year for the rest of my life than have Pellegrini stay another week.
I would rather see a Yaya-Barry-De Jong midfield every match for the rest of my life than watch a Yaya-Dinho two start another week.

I think back to the draw at home to hull, just before Hughes got the boot,I always thought that was the worst. Or the cup final against wigan and Mancini sacked.
is this a pattern?

Would snap anyone's hand off to be guaranteed 4th this season as I fear there will be only 3 points between us and 5th by this time next week. Big relief when Chelsea equalised yesterday. Always nice to see the scum concede but it's a fucking disgrace we're actually having to look over our shoulder to them now. We've played a lot worse than Saturday but it was up there with Pellers growing list of shocking tactical displays. Roll on the summer when he finally fucks off.

Worst performance was Liverpool 1-4 at home the other month. That was a fucking disgrace that game.

Liverpool was worse performance I think. Maybe I'm getting used to it but that was a typical city performance this season. Lack of intensity, poor start, individual errors costing us soft goals, slow and predictable in attack. No plan b,c or d. Against the weaker teams in the PL we can play like that and still win because we have some fabulous footballers. Put us against an average team and we might scrape a win. Put us against the better teams who seem to see us as their Cup final and we get a Liverpool, Arsenal, Stoke, spuds, Leicester kind of performance.

Apart from the FAC final which had circumstances attached all the bad defeats have one thing in come Pellegrini this stubborn man

These kind of performances happened maybe once a season under Mancini.

They are becoming a regular occurance under Pellegrini and if we are not careful we will start to lose that aura we had that made teams afraid of us.

Guardiola can't come soon enough. A perfectionist who is obsessed with his craft and who will tranform us into a winning machine.

I'm afraid to say the Pellegrini era has gone stale and i'm getting a bit sick of watching us drift.

Stoke away this season was a bad one Saturday was a chance to put a performance on go back top of the league i expected the players be up for it especially been at home and to win comfortable

i'd go for Stoke away this season; an utterly contemptible, spineless and talentless 'display'

Liverpool was a fair bit worse for me, as I actually expected us to compete, whereas Leicester wasn't a massive shock.

Liverpool also completely dominated us in every area of the game, Leicester just defended and countered well and attacked our weaknesses (as many teams have this season).

I think it was up there with the worst as many predicted it beforehand. The pre-match thread had many stating exactly what happened.

It means there is next to no preparation or thought about the opposition from the manager and coaching.

In terms of all round performance; Yes.

Said the same thing to my brother yesterday but I expected bad performances this year under Pellegrini, lets be honest if we weren't waiting for Pep, he would have lost his job in the summer.
Most definitely this game.
I came out at the end and felt like somebody had ripped my guts out..it took me weeks to get over it. I'd also throw Nottingham Forest smashing us in the FA cup at home high up there.. That game should of seen Hughes sacked on the spot..but no, he was given shit loads of money to bring the likes of Kolo no show, Ady-bayhorse and fucking Crocky Cruise etc etc to our club. The demi-waved rag ****!!!

I've just decided it is the worst defeat since the takeover. I am still fuming 48hrs later.

We've got injuries galore, so barring 1 or 2,the side is virtually picking itself.
The 2 decisions Pellegrini had were Demichelis or Sagna and Kolarov or Clichy and he got both wrong. But what makes it worse is, it was obvious, totally 100% obvious!!!
It's not rocket science how Leicester play, that's not taking anything away from them, they were excellent, but f**k me we didn't half help them out.

When Ranieri saw our starting 11 he must have pi**ed himself with laughter.
We play a 35 year old against probably the best break away team in the league, who by the way happen to have a striker on fire, who just sits on the last man, for fun. And the full back next to him is a glorified wing back who can win a header occasionally but hasn't blocked a cross in 6 years for us!!

I was fuming when Hughes did the same v Spurs a few years back, when he played a 36yr old Sylvinho behind Robinho against an in form speed freak,Aaron Lennon and again we got totally humiliated!

Difference is we we're only striving to be a top team then, now we are a supposed top team.

They time's a healer, but if anything I think I'm getting angrier.

I think this sums up my feelings perfectly.

For me yes it was, it was a chance to knock the stupid goatee smarmy smile off Linekers face and stamp our name on the prem trophy... So in terms of wasted opportunities this has the rank up there with season before last where we gave it away to Liverpool (Until Gerrard slipped). Maybe this year will be the same, maybe Leicester lucky run will end and we will stuff it, but it shouldnt be like that, we shouldnt rely on luck
