My own mother didn't work for 30 years and used to say to me throughout my childhood. These bastads are going to re assess me and I might loose my benefits. She was on long term sick. There was absolutely fuck all wrong with her except being fat and bone idle. She had the brand new Ford Focus etc, She milked the system for years while having a boyfriend she dint officially live who could be described as rich. What would you say to her?
Maybe if the government can make the necessary cuts they may be able to help more?

Most right minded folk do but what you have to be careful of not doing is making a policy that is aimed at a miniscule amount of folk, hurting a far bigger majority that are genuinly in need.
Yet again its an example of politicians making a scapegoat out of a section of the population and turning the rest against them to justify a cruel, ill thought out policy.

Im not disabled mate and im not in reciept of any benefits. I work and i pay my taxes as does my wife.
Like i said at the start today though, i believe passionately in our welfare state and what it stands for and believe its right we look after those unable to for themselves for reasons out of their control.

ATOS are a stitch up company who get paid for taking people OFF benefits,a lot of people in genuine need have been left high and dry,dave has made it much much harder to appeal,it's not set up to help those genuine cases,i can't keep banging my head against a brick wall trying to get that in your headKaren you haven't lost anything yet? If she was genuinely taking the piss then I would say to her she is a disgrace, the question I would ask generally is did the people who are qualified to actually judge if she was ill or just a idle scrounger concur that she was fit and healthy...ie the medical profession? I know people do take the piss, infact i could tell you of a couple that I know who are doing I hold them in contempt.
As for the support its simply not there for me and what is out there for her is inadequate and out weighed by the stigma of being dependant on benefits which puts both of us currently a fraction above peadophiles and terrorists in the social acceptability stakes in the eyes of the general population who are happy to believe that were it not for bebefit claimants the countries problems would simply dissapear....nonsense of course but Mr C O and IDS do their upmost to ensure this belief continues to thrive out there.

Mate you have to justify those numbers with facts.
Do so and im right behind you with regards to those taking the piss but you cant just pluck a number and sit behind it knowing the vast majority are going to suffer as well.
Its immoral and unfair.

The women that came to see me was from ATOS as was the letter they sent me,she admits there were horror stories but they have new contracts now whatever that means.They don't employ drs now, the assessments are done by nurses,social workers etc,she was an ex paramedic then some suit does the points allocating from their notes and make the decision as to who gets what.I am so stressed i can't tell youATOS are gone love. They made their money and then ditched it.

ATOS asked for their contract to be cancelled.
Maximus btw have an horrendous worldwide record with accusations of corruption and fraud yet our government felt it right to award tham a huge contract.
