Laporte is class. Fast AND intelligent. Kompany is injury prone and needs to be protected for the final years of his career with us.
Denayer can also play left back.

Anyway...
according to rumours Pep has said he wants him

What? Tot you were asking if I was talking about Vinny. And my response was 'Laporte'. As in, I was talking about Laporte.

What does Vinnyhave to do with that?"
And you said teams who control possession tend to have ball playing centre backs and you said Laporte and I said I'll stick with vinny meaning I prefer him as the mainstay in our team .

And I hope he gets him. The kid us a footballer true and through.

Surely a club trained player counts towards that 4 home grown quota?
Well it could but it would be a waste of a squad place we can have up to 17 non home grown in the 21 then there has to be 4 homegrown to make it 21. We can then add up to 4 club trained to make 25. As Denayer would be club trained then he would be used to make up the 25 rather than as part of the 21.

At least 4 club trained players are needed for the 8 locally trained (home grown) places. All 8 could all be club trained if we had enough of first team quality.
Yes I understand that but as we won't have enough club trained to make up the 8 in a 25 man squad, it would be a waste of a space to use him as one of the 4 homegrown in the initial 21.

Next season Denayer will still be under 21 and eligible for the CL on the UEFA B list, similarly the PL allows unlimited U21s. (To be eligible for both 2016/7 competitions a player may be registered on List B or be considered under 21 if he is born on or after 1 January 1995 )

So he is, forgot the age at the beginning of the year thing, so actually it makes no difference to the home grown quota.
