Woke up in London the morning after the final and nipped out of the hotel to buy the papers, The Sun and The Mirror ( both London editions )

City had taken out half page adverts in both papers in bold Sky Blue advertising tickets to the remaining home games at the Etihad.

I know we need to grow but this is everything I hated about our scumbag neighbours.

So in 10 to 15 years time we will have gobby Cockneys picking off rival fans on Wembley way when we are playing there ?

CAM ON YOU FACKIN BLUES

The glory hunting plastics are on their way !

Yet this sort of thing isn't in the Salford Advertiser or the Sale and Altrincham Messenger?

City do some marvellous things but they really do want our ground filled with well-off nobodies from anywhere don't they? which is shit!

Noticed it in the Evening Standard too.
Afraid it's the reality of success.
It's bound to happen to us just like it happened to every other winning outfit..

There have always been Cockney Blues, tbf. The more, the merrier I say.

'Price' of success. I see nothing wrong with it. The very second the takeover happened this was inevitable. We are becoming what we've slated United off for years for, but that's a by product of the take over and a very small price to pay for the success we are lapping up. The club as we see it hasn't changed, it's still our Manchester City. The newcomers and those in far foreign fields will see it as their Manchester City, and the two are completely different to both sets of fans.
This is why it makes me laugh when some fans slag u tied and Liverpool off for the coverage they get, but then demand that exact same kind of coverage based on our current success. In time all that will get lapped up in the press is us.

Haven't you been to any away game daaaarn saaarth in the past few years?
I've come across people in our end with thicker cockney accents than the fans in the home end, and they class themselves as blues...

But I remember meeting one bloke on the Tube who helped us find our way back to Euston from Westham recently and he was a Blue but had a cockney accent.
He said he was born in Stalybridge, had family there and so on but moved down to London in his younger days.
So he was there when we were shit but had the cockney accent.

I couldn't care less where you're from - it's where you're at.... My issue is with ticket prices and the more people with higher average salaries looking to buy tickets the more probability that we the poor fuckers up north will end up being priced out and as we have seen at the swamp over the years - shitloads of local rags now sat in pubs around the North West watching home games rather than in Old Toilet.

This will be us, well me anyway unless I relocate in the stadium to the cheaper seats or something.

I'm originally from Kent, I've been supporting City (or as you'd like me to me say Cit'eeee) since 1970 .. spent 30 years traveling to home & away games along with countless fellow suvverners from London, Kent, Essex, Surrey and all points south. We've been here all the time.

3yrs ago I moved up 'ere bringing my "cockney" accent wiv me!!! What took me 4hrs now takes me 40mins (on a good day that is).

Nowadays mate, many Mancs go to university you know, and some of us have had to move away to earn enough money to pay back our student loans. Many of us have to suffer living in London and this help is a godsend. And by the way, before you query this, I personally know loads of Man City fans from Manchester, who are living down in London. I used to but was lucky enough to be able to move back up North. however, when I lived in London, the cost of travel & unreliability of public transport, meant I had to miss loads of matches. I would have loved the help that is on offer now from the club. Also, I managed to convert loads of what you call gobby Cockneys, to support our great team.....and this is when they were s****. So I reckon we should welcome them with open arms because they were with us through thick and thin.

if we end up like united with a ground full of arrogant glory hunting cockneys/southeners then that would be terrible. Locals should imo be the core match going fan base like it has always been.the key to that is pricing, keep it affordable for all us poor northern people.

We are getting 55k right now, probably 90% of which are local fans. As a club the size of ours that's probably about our limit right now. It's inevitable we will get more and more tourists. That's what we want isn't it, global recognition? Well that in turn attracts global fans. That's how we become bigger.

If they are putting on a city shirt that will do for me. City supporters are everywhere couldn't give a hoot where they are from!

what's the problem?
