8 pages and no 'Who's that dying on the runway'

I love all these fans saying they never partook in Munich songs

You must have been as rare as York away supporters

The Kippax was always singing about Munich..it was a majority not a minority

Don't be sanctimonious about it now that we live in a pc society
no one ever sang Munich songs & no one ever took the piss of their out town support either ha

The spurs are on their way to........was particularly offensive in the 80's but sung by many as was the runway song. The latter still gets an airing now and again in pubs.

Far more inappropriate than the Adam Johnson song has to be associating John Merrick with that ugly twat Steve Bruce

Anything to do with paedo's or Munich are for wankers.
Come on now. I went to crystal palace a while back when Coppell was managing them after he'd left us 'under strange circumstances'

The whole of our section were singing the 'with a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile' song, and it was brilliant. Even the palace fans were laughing.

Let's not tar all Paedo songs with the same brush.

;-)

Best get some human rights organisation involved here and prosecute everyone, as it appears to be causing huge outrage. Christ, lighten up.

like i said earlier in this thread. Away fans are going to sing it towards us and they did today, we joined in adding the extended version and all of a sudden they stopped.

The real inappropriate songs were those who were singing the Iheanacho song every time Bony touched the ball in the first half. Like that's going to help the guys confidence...

Shhhh..... If people say it enough a bit like the media shit the masses will believe.

Mostly it's just sing songs, which is empty words. Sometimes it's designed to provoke a reaction from other fans; and you know what I don't join in but after a week of putting up with drivel; it puts a smile on my face, sometimes. Sometimes it's witty.
Sometimes it just feels like we have sunk to a low that doesn't respect us as fans and the journey we have been on- example here was "always the victims" at anfield on Wednesday.
Overall though I don't care. What keeps me coming back to football is the fact that the CEO of a ftse 100 company and a scum bag can find something they can debate passionately over. And at the end of the day we go home and go back to life.
Ps I used to love the Munich songs when we played against the rags but now think they just sound stupid: but what about a young lad who is starting out and singing an "inappropriate" song. The demographics of football have changed - there are now loads of older guys and not as many lads, which overall is to the detriment to the match day experience and the "product" overall so be careful what you wish for

The most inappropriate one at the moment is "City, City the best team in the land and all the world..."
Changing it to "City,City the most frustrating and inconsistent team in the world!!!!" Doesn't scan as well so as blue we use some artistic licence.

:)

And at a recent game I heard Sunderland fans sing by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen, and it's Sunderland.....

Think a lot of you are taking unnecessary umbridge at the Johnson song, its self deprecating and as despicable as his actions were Johnson's crimes were not as bad as Bill Wyman's of the Rolling Stones. He is still in the Band and allowed to travel the world despite clearly being guilty of sexual relations with a minor. I don't condone Johnson but he really is being hung out to dry, a harmless song shouldn't give anyone no more than a little self infused tut tut, safe to say moral outrage is way to much. As for the Munich song, that is crass, spineless and disgusting, I'm mid fifties and never, ever sang that song. My best mate's parents died in a plane crash in 1980 and the grief and sorrow that has followed him ever since would make your eyes water. As for the Jihadi John song, what's wrong with that? As long as its in a pub away from kids singing about the demise of low life scum is really ok with me. Elvis Costello once sang about the demise and death of Thatcher (Tramp the dirt down), a sentiment I agreed with, Daesh are scum and singing about them in my book is completely acceptable, its only words, not actions that cause death.

Not City related but went to Alty v Macc yesterday, heard this little ditty from the Macc lot....

His name is Freddie Talbot
He comes from Altrincham
What does he play?
What does he play?
