Wilfried Bony 2015/2016 Performances

If it was the BBC highlights, it didn't show two others, both headers from a central position around the 6 yard line, both missed by yards. He was awful, how he got to half time I've no idea, never mind getting another 15 minutes, whilst off the ball his movement was virtually non existent.

It was on the City App & those weren't shown. Fair enough. He still needs game time though in case of injuries. Also he is just back from what 7 weeks out? I'm not saying he's great just that as things stand we have to keep 3 strikers match fit and hopefully he'll come good next weekend. You never know in football. Let's hope.

Kelechi starts over Bony all day long.

A terrible buy and he will off on loan somewhere next season.

This really. He's not a bad striker. He's just a midtable striker that can't keep up with our level of play, and that's saying a lot considering the crap we've played for 18 months now. He still has enough time to reboot at another club and find his feet.

He's just an Ivorian Jermain Defoe.

All fair enough, my issue with him on Saturday, was he was very poor, and his body language suggested he didn't even want to be out there, plus we have a young lad who might not be ready yet, but he will put a shift in trying, and so even if you start Bony, if he's not doing it, and he wasn't, then take him off, and give the young lad longer.

So we can expect Kelechi to start with Kun on Saturday or be first in line as sub striker. If all 3 are now match fit. Tbf i thought Kelechi looked of the pace at Clanfield but it must have felt like coming on in the middle of the alamo we were that poor.

i felt so much for him on saturday, i really dont know why cos he had a stinker, but i just did. looked lost. movement was good for his missed sitter from Clichy's cross and his through ball to aguero was decent but essentially he had a poor poor game.

Is that the one where Richards had to help it on otherwise it wouldnt have got there

I just don't get what has happened to him. He's missed so many sitters since he joined it's unbelievable. Chances most people would tuck away he's managed to put wide, or over. His touch and strength has generally been good and his support play, and passing good but we want him to score and he's taking 5 good chances before he gets 1 goal, and considering those chances are bread and butter it's just not good enough. Being a quality striker is about confidence in your own ability. If you miss a sitter, get over it and score the next chance you get. Bony has looked out of his depth since he signed, he felt the pressure with the move and hasn't managed to step up. Normally I give players time, but with Nacho instantly settling into the first team I don't see the point in retaining him. There's talent in the academy and there's talent elsewhere that would be worth investing in. If we have to rely on Bony from here on out we just couldn't compete for the league or CL. We've been lucky historically as Dzeko has at least scored off the bench if nothing else. Bony just won't get us the goals we need and as that's his principle role we can't keep him.

Hopefully, but if I'm honest, I also thought he looked a bit lost on Saturday too, he gets about the pitch OK, but he hasn't looked especially sharp or effective recently, however, if he'd been on the end of the three Bony chances at the weekend, he'd have got at least one of them, its only an opinion, but I'd have him ahead of Bony right now, after Bony's injury, and be easing Bony back in, not just chucking him out there from the start, perhaps in that circumstance he might be a bit more relaxed and find it easier to do his job.

No point getting to critical of the lad. I don't think he fits in tbh and would be very surprised to see him still here next season. A loan no doubt!!
Not sure why we bought him and paid big money. The obvious thing that window was to get someone in on loan quick as cover. Instead we splashed out big money on a guy away in Africa who promptly got injured when he eventually arrived back. Bad resource management and Bony is getting a lot of the stick that should be directed at the purchasing department. On the evidence to date he is not in the class we need to move to the next level but please get behind the lad while he still wears the shirt. He might get one or two important goals before seasons end.

Nail on head for me.

I've said it time and time again - Bony's specialty is the hold up play, as in he'd LITERALLY hold the team up.

Bony's not great but he's an adequate back up striker who bags his fair share of goals. His through ball for Aguero's goal was exquisite and most of his critics would still be wanking about it now had Nacho played the same ball.

Our default formation is to play with one striker and as long as this is the case and as long as Sergio's here our 2nd and 3rd strikers will always be inferior to him. Being inferior to Sergio doesn't mean they're shit but too many of our new found plastics don't understand this. These halfwits used to boo Edin ffs - possibly the best reserve striker anyone has ever had. We have to get behind them not boo them and cheer when they're replaced.

For the amount of money that we got him for, we deserve to get better quality and output from him.

I'll get slated but ability wise Kelechi is ahead of Kun. He's a very capable footballer. A natural. He made the penalty. As for Bony maybe the logic was get him into the action as soon as... to get his fitness up...knowing we would probably beat Villa. I agree Kelechi would have taken the chance I've seen. Not sure what he's like with his head...probably great. Can see him doing very big things soon.

Nah, can't see you getting slated for thinking he's got more ability than Kun. Any right minded person can see that... Fuckinell..
