More flat track bullying

Im just glad we dont beat all the poor sides 1-0 because we would have a thread moaning we dont go for the jugular and boost our goal difference....

It's a cricket term and refers to a batsman who excels on a flat pitch (i.e. one without a great deal of bounce or movement) but struggles when the pitch means the bowler can make the ball move.
Thanks for the explanation. So regarding football, where the only person handling the ball is the keeper and our development has different types of grass built in, plus it's cricket, makes it a stupid term to apply to football. imho.

Not really. Graeme Hick exemplified this. A guy who murdered county bowling but struggled at Test level. But it also applies in golf where a player can win numerous tournaments but never a major,ie when the pressure is on. Same with football. The United side under Ferguson were often exemplars of this, thrashing hapless PL sides with their unsophisticated attack, attack mentality only to become badly undone against Europe's elite many times over the years.

I predict a resounding win against the vermin, then we'll kill Arsenals title challenge at home. That'll be two.. Whilst true and maybe ever so slightly damning, it is negative and negativity never won fuck all!! ( except maybe in Mouninhos case) and before you start calling me a happy clapper( Get fucked) some of the footballs been Shite this season agreed. But we've just won the league cup, one foot in QF of champs league and still in with a squeak for league and all with major injuries most of season.. Are things really that bad? O, and the best manager in the world's on his way.. Things are fucking brilliant!! CTIFD

It's a good job there are enough teams in the league that come under the umbrella of roll overs or we'd be really fucked this year.

Horse racing, some horses only win on flat tracks, throw an aul hill in and they're fucked

Not really. The flat track meant an easier game of cricket therefore an easier game of football.

go on then, apart from cricket and beating other sides with goals to spare, boredom is kicking in.
Go on then what? I'm enjoying your posts on the subject. I'm not in one camp or the other, though I did get what the OP was getting at by the use of the phrase.
