How would season ticket holders react to compulsory CL home tickets?

Bravo. The cunts in charge i hate, but i have nothing but love for the comp.
 
It's the travel through evening traffic and the distance that many travel that is the killer.
 
I struggle with it too be honest (uefa being the bent f@$kers that they are)but I also have a negative reaction to be forced to do anything.

If I don't want to go to the euro games that should be my choice. I have zero chance of getting a ticket to the final when we eventually get there. So don't see why I should be forced to go to the long winded run up.

Freedom of choice is everything.

Pretty much exactly this for me though I come from Scotland, I try to get to a champions league game each season but don't manage other midweek games.
 
Watching the best teams in Europe what's there not to like about that? I haven't missed a champions league game in three seasons and travel from the south coast. Yes it's tough getting home at 3am and off to work at 7-00, but that's my choice. Can't say I'm looking forward to our Friday night games next season, car travel is going to be a pig.

Is the correct answer.
I'm in all 3 cup schemes so it wouldn't affect me but I still think compulsory cup ticket purchase is wrong.

10 PL games for the entire season so we won't have many, if any.
 
For me it would depend on pricing. I think we should treat the group games as extended league games and as fans we need to get behind it. The club could price them sensibly. If they froze prices say and threw in the 3 group games I would be happy with that!
 
Like others have said it wouldn't affect me because I join up on all cup schemes anyway - that's my choice though. If the club decided they wanted to make that choice for me, or worse for those who don't want to or can't make the midweek games then they would be told to sling it.
It's not neccessary to rinse every last pound coin from your loyal fanbase. For the extra money it might bring in, the poor press the club would get would ensure its not nearly enough. Most importantly would be the good will lost between the club and the fans, is it really worth it?
 
I will hate it despite being on all three cup schemes. It would force people to buy tickets who don't want them and may not be able to attend. Not only will there be empty seats scattered everywhere especially in the Family Stand for the MEN to circle but people who do want to go may be denied tickets.

On a personal level if would make it harder for those currently on the schemes with modest numbers of loyalty points to get tickets for the finals.

So it will annoy those currently on the schemes and those not on them at the moment. That is a lose/lose.

Now, don't be like that. I said there are no such thing as 'lesser' games but for certain games I ensure my work does not get in the way - I am self employed. Sometimes I just can't make it due to work commitments and living so far away
Back on thread - as I said I find it hard to like this competition. I think my views should be respected and certainly there should be no requirement to buy tickets for other comps on a league seasoncard. The cup scheme works perfectly for that - it even comes with an incentive (some may consider 'a bribe') of extra loyalty points for those who take it up.
I'm hoping reaching the quarter finals might get me giddy - I'm not a miserable git by nature, honest - but it's unlikely. Until then, respect other Blues views and I'll see you at Bournemouth if you're going ;-)
 
Absolutely not. I'm on all the cup schemes and it's very easy for me to get to the games anyway, so no real impact personally but we have a lot of fans who would find it impossible to get to the games. They'd effectively be punished for where they live or what they do for a living.

Would also have huge financial implications as there'd be no incentive for the club to price games competitively. If you HAD to buy a ticket why would the club charge £20 when they can charge £40? I'd hazard a, conservative, guess that it would add at least £100 to a season ticket. At a time when a lot of our long standing fans are feeling the pinch, this would be a dreadful move by City.

A better solution would be to give extra loyalty point to fans that actually attend games, as well as those that buy a ticket. Same should apply for all cup comps.
 
I already miss five or so games each season for various reasons - work, family do's, illness etc. Probably most blues who hold season tickets but do not live in Manchester are in the same boat. Adding on an additional three games that I would probably miss two of doesn't sound like the best of ideas to me.
