The Mirror have worked out that we paid VAT on the deal like all other UK to UK transfers so it's a non-story.

Me neither. Adding the VAT as some form of 'shock' is ludicrous. You pay it and reclaim against ticket sales so unless you have a tiny crowd you get it back.
