Rebuild

Probably dreaming but this is how I'd like to see us start next season:

Hart
Denayer Laporte (£35m) Otamendi Sandro (£35m)
Pogba (£65m) Gundogan (£28m) Dinho
De Brunye Aguero Sterling

Rest of Squad: New GK (£10m) Kompany, Zab, Silva, Weigl (£25m) Nacho, Sane (£32m) Clichy, Garcia, Tosin, Roberts, Delph, Navas

Out: Yaya (£12m) Fernando (£8m) Sagna (free) Willy (£5m), Mangala (£22m) Nasri (£15m) Demi (free), Kolorov (£10m)

Total Spend: £230m - £72m = £158m

I think the incoming players, whoever they are, will cost City an average of £10m more per player than your estimates.

I also think quite a few of the outgoing players will leave on loan deals. I don't think it will be easy to sign so many players and I expect many of the deals will drag on into August. We cant offload players in bulk until we are sure that we have the replacements on board. I think the club will look to move on Yaya fairly quickly, Demichelis is obviously going, but the rest will have to wait until we've got the replacements. Which will make it difficult to complete permanent deals, especially given the wages some are on.

Yesterday was increased reinforcement that one or two of our heroes aren't fit to wear the shirt anymore.

Cannot wait to see the back of them. All talk no action.

Have we still got the guy at the club who focused on outgoing sales?

I forget his name but he had background in English football administration.

It will be a busy and vital summer of transfers.

We need at least three central midfielders, Fernandinho is currently the only one capable of doing the job required.

Sagna, Zab, Otamendi, Demichelis, Kolarov, Fernando, Yaya, Silva, Navas, Bony.

These are the players I think will leave in the next 12 months, and I have no problem with it whatsoever.

If Merlin sorts himself out, then keep him, and I think Kompany will be hanging on by a thread.

Looking forward to the cull now

this teams run has finally come to an end ( sadly ) and we must now rebuild might take 12 months to get a side together and fighting for the league again, the managment must of known this when they bought slightly older players back 5 years ago, unfortunatly we have not replaced them with quality that they thought they had bought.
lets hope the new players brought in will improve us and take us to the next step which for me is winning 2 league titles in a row.

Our recruitment was hampered by so called FFP. Now that's dead in the water, it will simply be a case of can we attract the players we want.

What annoys me about our team is the lack of anywhere near a homegrown core.. Only Hart and Sterling are our regular English Starters/subs..Maybe Delph if he can stay off the injury table for more than a couple of games. Compare that to Leicester and Tottenham whom both have that core of English/homegrown players supplemented by good foreign players.
No-one has come through our system successfully since Micah/Sturridge (Kelechi isn't homegrown)and the more and more we stock up on these average £20mil+ players the less chance they are going to come through.

I imagine Bony is going to get picked over Kelechi until the end of the season. Demichelis was kept instead of giving Denayer the chance i assume he was promised when he signed a new contract.

I imagine we'll be on a bit of a mad one this summer spending wise and the only player from the premier league we have been linked with is John Stones?

up until a few years ago we had that core, when we had Richards, Hart, Lescott, Barry, Given, Wright-Phillips, Milner, Taylor, Prisoner no423949 & Onuoha, since then we've got rid of them all except Hart. And have just replaced them with the likes of Demichelis and Fernando, Why?

except Aguero, Hart and Fernandinho.. i can say that most City player loss their form under inept Pellegrini..
i believe player like Mangala, Sterling , Delph, Otamendi, etc.. still have a future in this team..
under the right manager and the right system, they will be performed..
for the first time, during his first year, i think Pep will not play with his traditional formation with inside forward/winger..

hope the first things Pep will sort out is to bring down average age for this team..

bring in 6 players - Gundogan (25), Pogba (24), new GK (schmeichel,29), new CB (laporte,22), new left back (gaya,21) and new striker (morata,23)
sell/release 8 players - sagna (33), zabaleta (31), kolarov (30), caballero (34), bony (27), silva (30), demichelis (35), yaya (33)
keep 7 veteran - kompany (30), hart (29), fernando (29), nasri (29), navas (30), clichy (31), dinho (31)
3 club homegrown - denayer, nacho, schmeichel
[i expect Schmeichel will move to big club after he won the league, he is the best candidate to challenge Hart's place]
4 nation homegrown - hart, clichy, delph, sterling
[hope we can sign Stones (for Kompany), Barkley (for Nasri) or Cresswell (for Clichy) at some point in the future]

as for Denayer at right back, his current form at Galatasaray are better than Zabaleta and Sagna.
he had all the attacking qualities to be a very good right back in the future.

Xhaka or weigl for midfield
New striker
New right winger
New left back
New centre back

Even he has been hit and miss recently. I can't think of one player who has been better than a 7/10 this season. Plenty below 5/10
Nonsense, along with Fernandinho,Clichy and Aguero have attained that level regularly as did Vince in the few injury free games he's managed.

We are struggling and the positives are few and far between.....but that's not an excuse to make things up.

Not sure we can do that this time. We need to identify who is leaving early and get rid. We then need 2 mega signings and 4/5 lesser signings who are young have some technical ability and willing to work their balls off. We need to bring back Denayer and maybe one or two others and promote 2/3 from academy. If we are in the Europa we will need a large pool of 25 to 28 players who actually get game time with a lot of rotation

Sagna or Zab will go not both in summer anyway. Kolorov almost certain to go back to Italy. Demichelis is leaving in May. Bony has to be shown the door. Otamendi will most likely be given a chance particularly with doubts about Vinny's fitness. Yaya may survive one more year but that will depend on who might come in and what offers are received. Silva will be given a chance most likely. Navas will be replaced if a suitable replacement is found and the same can be said of Fernando. There must also be doubts about Nasri and Delph. As I have been saying for weeks now this is a two year rebuilding job and expect 4/6 changes both this summer and the following one. There will be 3/4 mega buys with 6/8 lesser arrivals of guys who have some technical ability and a strong work ethic.

I did wonder when the teams walked out, how many City players would United be worried about? Obviously Aguero. They would have known that Yaya and Silva are capable of magic and would have to be watched, but aren't playing that well. They would have respected Hart but known that he is beatable. Apart from that?

Criminal that our squad has been allowed to become so poor after the great team we had in 2011.
