Rebuild

I hope so but we have to remember FFP is still in play. How much do you reckon we realistically can spend? £150m net?

Net I've got no idea because i've got no idea who we can sell and for how much. In terms of incomings though, we spent close to 150 million gross last summer, not including the 30 million on Bony in January. So conservatively, we'll spend 200 million gross this summer. If we can pick up one or two from the top drawer cheap ala Gundogan we'll be laughing. The big question is are we in for Pogba. Because it's his fee that will be outlandish. Everyone else we could go for will be in the 35 - 50 million bracket which is fine.

While I'm convinced as everyone else that we need 2 fullbacks and two high quality centre midfielders I do worry a little about our attacking options. We seem to be missing a little bit of spark in attack.

Admittedly de Bruyne and Nasri are missing but Silva is nowhere near his best, Navas doesn't produce enough and we don't seem to know how to use Sterling. We seem to be reliant on a bit of magic from Aguero or Yaya but the last few games we have struggled to create chances regularly.

We've scored 7 in the last 6 league matches which looks ok but 4 of those we against Villa. We were in control at Norwich but quite stale going forward. We really don't seem to be capable of producing the kind of football that rips teams apart and creates chances like the first few matches this season. Mostly it has been slow, low tempo passing in front of the opposition back 4 but with either 1 up front and an out form Silva or with Bony and Kun we look a little sterile.

I expect next season de Bruyne to be hugely important as our creator but I think we need someone else to share that burden.

It's almost certain we'll bring in another attacking midfield player. We nearly brought one in in January. Who it is is another question altogether!

The big plus for me about Pep arriving is that, no matter who we bring in, we don't get beaten due to the greater work rate of the opposition. Time and again this season we've played teams that worked much harder off the ball than we do. We worked hard pressing away to Kiev, away to Sevilla and for the first 30 mins in the League Cup Final. Can't think of many other matches where worked that hard.

£35-£50m might just buy a regular starter this summer.

Players that run and run and run and that can pass accurately and quickly when under pressure. We need to and more more and more technical ability. We need full backs who can truly do the job of a wing back.
Plus versatility, his players need to be able to change tactics, formations and their own position at the drop of a hat. They have to be intelligent footballers.

I just hope that If the club do read this forum they don't take any notice of the nonsense posted on here.

Apparently I've been reading for months that it's all Pellers fault and he has the best squad in the league at his disposal, now, our failings are actually down to the quality of the squad so surely Pellers should be applauded for the job he is doing - after all he's won us another trophy and we have got further in the champions league than any other previous squad in the clubs history.

If the above means we need a complete rebuild -then so do all of the teams in Europe outside of the quarter finalists.

The squad needs a tweak and a lowering of the age profile what you don't do is lose all of the winning experience you have in your team.

Not everyone thinks it is all Peller's fault.
