Legends (ahem) lounge

I was in the legends lounge for the derby.

I don't have anything against the guy, but Richard Edghill is on the staff.

Surely that's a bit of a stretch with the term 'legend'?

Local lad, City fan since he was a kid, and scored a pen that put us on course to be what we are today. Of course he's a fucking legend.

heart and soul is blue, put up with the worst abuse I've witnessed at a City player, deserves the legend status as much as anyone, sealed it when he scored his one and only goal from open play and didn't know how to celebrate, think he was as shocked as the rest of us

Redge was getting alot of shit from City fans that season. To step up and take a penalty in the way he did shows a great deal of bottle. Despite it being one of our worst ever seasons in our long and illustrious history, that squad was made up of quite a few legends. Andy Morrison, Nicky Weaver, The Goat and Richard Edgehill to name four.

Gerard Wiekens and Paul Dickov, to name another two.

When he was playing thousands of City fans did not think he was a legend as he got some horrible abuse

The 6-2 win at Sheff Wednesday he was immense. I think that game was the catalyst for promotion.

It was 1-1, 1-2 or 2-2 and he was down injured close to the goal line at our end, they were attacking (he was still getting dogs abuse), he got partly up and flung himself at the ball, stopped the attack and was then stretchered off. Not a big thing in the scale of that season but at the time it was the stuff of legends.
