Have a look back at this thread, its all in here.

Agree to disagree on this one.
I never like to see current or former players given stick unless it's warranted, (for former players. Never ever give current ones stick).
I don't understand how you don't get it. Not many of us were bothered by the way he ran down his contract. That's just football. He did what he thought was best for his career.
What REALLY rankled was the way he celebrated his goal against us. When he scored for City agsinst Villa he refused to celebrate. So why did he celebrate a goal (in a pisstaking fashion) against a club who'd provided him with trophies?
Twat. Him, not you.
Might just be me then but I like the way players celebrate against their former teams. It looks a bit silly when they don't, and more often than not they go out of their way to show they're not doing it. Why Milner didn't celebrate against villa, only he knows but that, for me, is the only reason he should be criticised, not for celebrating against us. As far as I'm aware he has no affinity to anyone other than Leeds and so that would be the exception to the rule, if he didn't celebrate against them.I don't understand how you don't get it. He's a **** for that, if true ;-).According to talkshite he was one of the consultancy team who designed the latest England strip.
he was on a committee with Woy and Wooney. What? The one that most consider the worse produced in decades? Kinda makes sense.
Not me being sensitive, just sticking up for someone who did well for the club and has, in my eyes, done little wrong other than look after himself. The sensitive ones are those giving him stick for that decision. Us, Villa, Newcastle and Liverpool are nothing other than employers to him, and I say that on the basis the only club who might mean anything to him being Leeds.

Why should or would he give a toss about you though? He literally has nothing to do with us other than we paid his wages. A mate recently moved jobs and his previous employer took a hit by clients following him to his new job. He thinks that's great as its made his new company money. Nothing personal, just business and self interest. No different to Milner running down his contract and coining it at his new employers. There have been plenty of media reports quoting Milner in the press and he's said a fair bit. He wasn't played regularly enough and he had an eye on this Euro squad which he wanted to be a part of. The Liverpool move was done and dusted early doors and he was never interested in staying at City. Rather than threaten that move by signing a new deal and getting a fee for City, a club that did so much for him, he decided to just let his run down and then go off to Liverpool, score against us and celebrate. Tonight he'll be captaining the England side.
He's a typical England product of the last decade or so. A real Hodgson player. Will run all day, will be a real 9/10 one week and then 5/10 the next 8 weeks. But he'll work his socks off and that warrants his place in the side. Hard work over quality. The performance against Germany was exciting. Alli was incredible, Kane's goal was brilliant and there was so much pace and power and desire in the side. Follow that up by giving Milner the captaincy... watch Rooney walk back into the starting 11 for the Euro's too.
Anyway, Milner is a ****. I wouldn't begrudge any player moving for footballing reasons but he came to City for money and the promise of trophies. He got them. It was largely thanks to other players rather than his contribution so to grind down a contract, leave for free and then celebrate against us is unacceptable when the fans had no issues with him. I expected more from Jimmy, but he let us down.
That would not surprise me.I've heard he compiled a 3000 page dossier on the advantages and disadvantages of V neck vs crew neck.
His first choice was a roll neck but Wooney vetoed it as he has no neck.

Fans tend to forget that's all football clubs are to the majority of players - merely their employers.

To him it's exactly like that. It's simply his job and nothing more. He has no reason to feel any affinity to this or any other club. I certainly don't feel anything towards my employer other than despair each and every day I rock up to the place.Your mate doesn't play in front of 50,000 fans each week who sing his name and he doesn't wear the shirt and badge that means so much to so many. You might be happy to accept footballers are mercenaries but I'm not. I wouldn't expect some Brazilian pre-madonna to give a shit about the club and we've been lucky that some of our foreign signings have really embraced our club history. Milner was PFA Young player of the year when we signed him, he already had the tag of being a solid but perhaps not spectacular midfielder and he's had a successful career thanks to his time with us. There was no need for him to celebrate scoring against us the way he did. Seeing out his contract I understand to a degree though it's still disregarding the club that's given him so much. As fans we all supported him when he was at the club.
It's not like Arsenal who slated Adebayor when he was at the club, then booed him for leaving and were then outraged that he celebrated with such elation when he scored for us against them.
Utterly pathetic. What a **** of a comment to make.Hope Gundogan breaks his legs next season, he's a vile man who led this club a merry song and dance.
