Yaya-Keep or Sell?

I said in another thread that those 3 can't play in the same team. Personally, I'd have Toure and de Bruyne as I think de Bruyne can play the Silva role, but I don't think Silva can play the Toure role (wouldn't bother me if Pellegrini tried it, but he won't). I don't think he'd want that role either, and would probably move on rather than play second fiddle to de Bruyne. Unfortunately for us, I don't believe Pellegrini has the balls to make the tough decision about dropping players, so he'll probably start all 3, which will again expose our defenders who will get pelters on here for being shite.
There was a time when all 3 could play together.

This season has turned into a managing and nurse Yaya season and we are weak in midfield, an area where we would once dominate. It's annoying because if you look at the players we have, pellegrini has alternatives but he wont change even when results suggest he should

I'd disagree that it's just down to Toure. If the manager was 'managing and nursing Yaya then he woulkdnt be playing the formations he has been. Absolutely everyone, except our manager, knows you can't play him in a two man midfield set up. If anything you could make an argument that he has set the team, and Yaya up to fail. The whole season has seen us being dismantled by teams, and a lot of that has been the way the team has been set up.

Yes, we've had injuries, but opposition managers know how to set up against us and exploit the space behind Toure and whichever of the Fern's are in there. For my mind, I think Toure has been hung out to dry, as has our defence - especially our defence. It's a shame a lot of fans cant/won't see it and just constantly blame individuals.

yup, time to move on. transfer fee is not important in this case anymore, its getting his huge wages off the books so they can be reinvested

The other day I read West Ham were willing to pay 20 million for him. I'd take that anyday. Don't care, it frees up a slot to have a younger, far more mobile player with probably more willingness. It is the perfect time to fuck him and his agent off. We just need to be careful and get a good replacement.

I agree with many of the comments...His impact on the field isnt the same as it was a few years ago and he's also started to pick up injuries.......and with him and his agent at it again in the press....really hope Pogba (or another replacement) can be found so he can move on....

This x100. He gets played in the wrong position and all of a sudden his legs are gone.

I'd put money on him staying next season.

Transfer fee is very important if it results in him enjoying sweat and sour chicken for dinner next season!

His agent think he have the final say !

We should tell his agent that he has two options:

1- Honor his contract
2- Sold to China for 100 Million

He can get lost as far as I am concerned. Sick of this chump agent.

"calmly confirm". He must now realise that cakegate was ever so slightly hysterical and OTT. I'd like to keep Yaya because I think Pep would use him well but it looks like this is bridge burning time. Won't be sorry to see the back of Seluk.

Rule of Agency - Agent only acts on instruction from Client. Client and Agent in this case want excessive income / job for life. They obviously think that the Club are a soft touch, and fancy their chances. Get rid - time to get some mobility and intensity in the middle of the park.

I must respectufully disagree with the Pepe assertion bud. I think Yaya's lack of energy for a full 90min totally puts him out of Pep's ideas.
I am not saying it because he sold him before as Pep is to smart to arbitrarily count him out. I just think that the lack of a full 90min from Yaya is a huge thing for Pep, espesh in this league where we make up for lack of tactical skill with energy.

Sell only if we are getting pogba... Otherwise nope as he has shown in the last few matches.. We look a different team without him
If we bring in the likes of Gundogan, Isco and or Koke, we wouldn't look disjointed or unable to move the ball. We can still sell without getting Pogba. What Pogba brings is added Athletism and a growing goalscoring threat. Funny those are the exact things Yaya has lost in loads the last 2 years. The current Yaya is easily replaceable by a talented ball possesion CM like Koke or Gundogan. Mind you, I'm one of those who think Koke is overrated. Yet I think he'd comfortablly replace 90% of what the current Yaya gives us, plus add some defensive bite.

Now back to my Koke hating :-) I think he is slow, and will not enjoy the pace of players in the Prem. While he's passing tree is dynamic, I think he is a passer and lacks dribbling skills ( of the take on a defender variety). His possesion skills while good enough for the Prem isn't at the level of what we ascribe to diminutive Spanish players. He is not at the Silva, Carzola, or Mata level. More like Dihno level ball control without the makeup speed.

I know most disagree vehemently with that characterization, and opinions vary, but that's what I see when I watch him. Not to mention, he seldom dominate games. I often can't tell who had a better game, Koke, Saul, Gabi or Thiago. They all seem to play about the same way. All hustle, tackling and general good passing. I know he is better than all the others, but it's not like Silva was for us 2 years ago. Where he stood taller than anyone.

There, Koke rant over. Noe let's go get him ;)

Depends on how Pep uses him. Xabi Alonzo isn't the most energetic player in the world yet he works just fine as DM ID everyone else is pressing hard. But personally, id rather welet him go finish our somewhere else.
