To be fair you are probably right, he has not been the same player for a while and cakegate in hindsight may have been the time to let him go.

We looked so much more balanced against PSG with two in the middle protecting the back four and working hard. Sad watching Yaya jog around the pitch without making any challenges or doing anything to close down or win the ball back. Gundogan, Kroos, Pogba would all be an improvement.

Sadly I have to agree. I think it was the game at home to Leicester when he seemed to pull out of a very winable challenge that sealed it for me. A true legend on the pitch but time to say goodbye I think.

As others have said, if he was up for it, I'd keep him another year or so as an impact player (I personally feel he would be up for it...)

He is on £200k+ a week here, He could probably get £250k+ a week in China looking at some of the wages they are paying other players. He is at the end of his career, Can barely even run anymore I think he knows his best days are gone and will be looking for a nice big pay day.

Said for a while now if we can send him to China that is best case scenario for us. Hopefully this has some truth to it.

Ticks their boxes; a big name player who'll attract attention. Ticks our boxes; we'll actually get some money for him & can find a club who'll be able to afford his wages.
