What is up with some City fans ?

add to the problems yesterday people trying to get half price Southampton tickets and I think the online server just collapsed under the strain of it all, just one of those things I'm afraid, expect more of the same if we make the final

Load of rubbish on this thread, I'm afraid.

This is a forum. People are anonymous. They bitch and back-bite and wind up for fun, or because they have issues. It's always been like this on here and on every other football forum. It isn't real life.

I bet hundreds of blues have said to another blue this week "I can't get through to City for Real tickets", and about practically every response will have been along the lines of "Bad luck mate. You'll get one." Virtually nobody will have said "Where were you against Seville" or "Haha, you should have been on the scheme like us real fans", unless they are still at school.

Forums are full of shit.
Never a truer word DD. Quite sad to see users who are so smug or retort with "Well serves you right for not being on the cup scheme" or "Will you be at Newcastle tonight then?"

The truth is that the club and its ticketing systems were 100% responsible for this. Even people on the cup scheme are saying they haven't got their tickets.

Yep. If you want to get technical, you could actually point the finger at the Load/Stress Testing of the software. Not sure what you mean by the last point though.

Us loyal fans just get our card enabled ;-)

Woah there!!
What's this about cup scheme members not getting a ticket? Where do I join the gang with pitchforks?

I went to the Juve game and missed the Kiev game, i went against Hull but missed the Paris game,i am going against Madrid, the point is if i have the money in the bank at the time they go on sale i will go,i suspect that is the case for quite a few fans who are on the lower end of the wage spectrum, it isn't just a case of missing games because of not being arsed, i can't think of anywhere i would rather be than at the Etihad.

I can. I miss some games because I cant be arsed. I missed the games against Palace and Hull for the simple reason they didn't really appeal to me and I don't like night matches so combined it wasn't enough to attract me. I went against Everton and the final.

I missed Villa at home because I was a bit under the weather. Nothing major and had it been Arsenal at home I would have gone. Villa didn't appeal.

Its not just about money for some, its about convenience, having other things to do etc...I am missing Stoke on Saturday for a family event.

There will be a fair few who miss games for the same reason hence the reason why we have lots of empty seats at home games. Football is not the be all and end all to everyone.

I think the point is that the ticketing systems didn't collapse for the earlier rounds of the Champions League or the League Cup. The League Cup home games were cheap as chips but I think more City fans went to Wembley than to Hull at home. A lot of City fans hide behind the cost of cup ties when really they just can't be @rsed. Remember the chant a few years ago - "If your watching on the telly your c***? Aimed at those that couldn't be bothered turning out for cup ties that were on the box.

Some cup scheme members have posted that they haven't been allocated their seats as they should have been.

So I'd stop being so smug and check before it sells out ;-)
I've never bothered checking before. Up until now I've just been receiving a text message on the day of the game telling me I'm in my normal seat. Do you think there may be issues with this one?

That's because they had longer to sell them and spread out the entitlement to buy over a longer period. So there wasn't as much pressure on the systems as there was for these, where they stupidly tried to force all SC holders to buy in a 5-hour window, which completely overwhelmed the systems.

I think itspperfectly natural to defend the club and yourself, not sure why we are supposed to care so much about strangers tbh. Unity is ne thing, but saying that people who refuse to walk out are "im alriht jacks' is a dick move.

Just check your account online, I've had no email, but it clearly says on my account that my seat has been allocated. People worry for nothing sometimes, but if they are worried they just need to login and check.

With respect I think that's a dick comment. It's people with season tickets who are having problems, people on the CL scheme and people who don't have season tickets but have been to all the CL games who may not get tickets.

And whether you attend one game a season or every game, you're still a customer and entitled to be treated with due respect.

The club cocked up and it's disgraceful that people are playing the "I'm alright Jack" or "I'm on the cup scheme so I'm a bigger blue than you" card.

I got an email on Sunday night.

I can afford it, I can afford to take the best part of half a day off to wait on the phone, I can afford to buy a season ticket.

What I can't afford to do is believe this gives someone any type of entitlement or superiority, over someone else.

Everybody has circumstances, everyone has their own issues to contend with, whether they be family, health, work or money.

Supporting a football club should not be a pissing contest about who has the deepest pockets.

My dad is 65 soon, one day you might be sat next to him in the pub as he nurses his pint, because it doesn't sit well with him that his son buys his season ticket, and he'll be watching it on the TV.

Maybe his son will find money harder to come by one day, as his young family gets older?

Few will have any knowledge of the years, money and devotion they have already put in.

They are a blue, and they deserve every entitlement anybody with more advantages has.

And the club need to address it.

100% this, well said.

How many more times are you going to say that the club cocked up? It did, it apologised and no doubt it will learn from the situation. It doesn't do much wrong IMHO but like most other growing businesses, it sometimes makes mistakes.
