The battle for 4th place

Can you really explain to me how player a could not complete a simple pass to player b (who on many occasions was only a few yards away) is the fault of the manager. These are international players not some muppets who have just learn't how to kick a ball.

I'm not defending his team selection, but to claim that poor passing lies at his door is just so wrong
Yaya was carrying an injury you could tell. It didn't take a genius to work that one out. The whole team looked heavy legged and that impacted on their game thus making them unable to do the simple things like a 10 yard pass. The last couple of weeks have probably caught up with them and hopefully a couple of days rest and recuperation will see them back up to speed for the final 5 or possibly 6 games remaining.

Yeah you're right I mean our history doesn't suggest we've ever been a club that likes to do things the hard way. We certainly didn't get relegated the year after winning a title. Or score and concede over 100 goals in a season. We definitely don't seem to prefer to make life hard for ourselves and I'm pretty sure the QPR game never happened and that we weren't miles behind the rags at one stage. And I don't remember us losing at Anfield to almost end our chances of winning the league...but then winning it.
That's absolutely nothing to do with fate.

Fate, destiny, luck, karma, the big joojoo man in the sky, a little fairy that pops a penny under your pillow if you've lost a tooth - none of that actually exists. None of them are real.

Attributing those things to events that have happened in the real world is pure barmy talk!

You said it yourself, we've done things the hard way. We've done some amazing things as a club, there have been some bizarre things happen and mad coincidences. But "fate" has never touched anything real.

You mean 6 possibly 7?

Which is?
In those games there were four draws including the might of norwich city newcastle and an average dynamo kiev. So sounds great one defeat in ten games doesnt it, fact is we have been treading water at best. Change it to league games only and that defeat column goes up a lot. The fact is were in this fight for fourth quite simply due to stupid dropped points like last night and norwich a few weeks back and awful villa back in nov/dec whenever it was and the fact we have let our upper league rivals bum us every time. In this 6 or 8 weeks of fantastic form has our position strengthened or weakened?

You're right mate. We're treading water. I'm just trying to look at it with a glass half full attitude and only because as a club we're in a great place right now. But yes silly points dropped at silly places but on the flip side take out Leicester and Tottenhams amazing season and we're right up there but again it's been a weird old season where nothing has gone according to plan. Hopefully pep will iron out these inept performances.

Who cares where we finish? It's just football and we'll all be back again in August for another go!

Most of those who can't stomach the idea of a 5th or 6th finish do so as they can't stand United potentially being above us. There's no trophy for 4th, they are regardless still shite, and by Xmas they'll be back in the Europa anyway.

Conversely, we did win a trophy this year, and could still sneak the Champions League. Even if we do end up in the Europa League, we can play the EDS early doors to give them experience and 100% attack next year's Premier League.

Chill out. It just ain't that important.

Perhaps for some fans it ain't that important but for the money who run our club I'd say it's critical.

You are right but it's a forum so it's going to be talked about.

I enjoyed myself more in Disney Paris last week than I have watching us this season. I'm not going Saturday, won't be watching and will be enjoying a nice bit of nose bag whilst the game is on. yum yum.

Sense Pmsl.... Are you both high? If Liverpool/Utd finish above us they will sign better placyers due to them being in the CL. We'll struggle to sign that top tier if we don't make the top 4 and if Spurs Arsenal Liverpool and Utd all four strengthen with some quality players how is that a good thing for us?

I just hate the way Pellegrini is throwing away the league for Champions League. Not only him but players too but since he is the only one we are certain to not be here next year, it kinda leaves bad taste and ruins his image in my eyes. Let's hope we'll nick CL football for next year, I wouldn't want to hate the guy.

I am a bit pissed but not high.
