More and more international coaches are deploying the high press. Klopp and Poch for starters. And both teams will be up for it next season. It's a common tactic used by a lot of our opponents that they will usually close our entire team down quickly apart from one player who they identify as a weak link.
A few times this season I've seen players aggressively press until the ball gets to Mangala and then they're more willing to give him time and hope that he makes a mistake.
This is why having two CBs who are comfortable on the ball is a must for any team hoping to dominate possession. Especially in the last few seasons where high pressing and counter attacks are in fashion.
We simply can't have skill less CBs. We'd suffer against these team's. Klopp's Gengenpressing is hard enough to deal with even when you have superior players across the board. It sure isn't advisable to handicap yourself with players who are uncomfortable or not confident in possession.
