Great article. Sounds like a young man with a wise & focused head.

One to follow with interest.

Hope he gets some time with Pep pre-season.

I was sat next to some Cambuur fans at a recent home game and they gave him a glowing report, said we was becoming a very adept player, one for the near future.

i think we should take him on tour with seniors in the summer and let guardiola evaluate him before we consider another loan.

same goes with manu garcia. i think both look ready to step up and challenge.

new video that got posted the other day.

i know these clips only really show his best bits but jack looks like he could be the real deal to me.

he still has a long way to go to get to champions league level quality but the signs are there.

We do need a little bit of caution though. It is after all a league where Afonso Alves can out score virtually the whole of world football. And where even Memphis Depay is good. To me, he's only the real deal if Pep thinks so after pre season!

I think for Jack another season out on loan at a top Dutch side will benefit him long term. A chance for him to play for a Ajax or PSV and to be in the mix for winning a title will be a great great for him as both clubs should be playing European football. Feel its best for Jack to play another full season. As people say its up to Pep but depending on who stays and goes and who we sign we may see 1 or 2 staying and being part of the squad from the lads out on loan at the moment but they will find it hard to break into the side in some positions.

To be fair, if you went back over 50 years for over time comparisons and asked which league produced or even helped develop the best 20 players, the Dutch would beat the English 20-0.

I'm not sure about that. Some of the best Dutch players in recent times peaked over here & outside those, other than Cruyff, I'm not sure how many would be swapped for George Best or Gerrard or Bell or even Shearer or Lampard etc.

The thing that makes it a good place for loans nowardays imo is that it's shit, so there's a decent chance players will get a game. If Jack can perform at the same level in a proper league he'll be nailed on.

I'd rather see him go to one of the promoted sides in the Premier League. He's good enough and it'll be better for his development.

Only watched the videos on here of his time at Cambuur, but every time i've seen him for the youth teams he's been absolute class. When a youth player is standing out without having any sort of physical advantage, you know there's a player there. Byrne has the brain for football, and the skill to match it.

Really pleased to see he's doing so well.

A lot of long, Pizarro like passes in that video. Can't say I've seen much of him, we've been dying for someone with that kind of passing range for a while though.

with the money coming into the league next season i think it will be very difficult for any team - including newly promoted teams - to get to take on academy players to further develop.

everyone in the league will be able to afford at least a 10m-15m finished article i reckon.
