For the benefit of our contributor from the suburb of Worsley ;-)
We're almost in March, people were not talking about him (this year). It's all about the lads vs Chelsea (which is great) but I really like the look of this kid. All seems right, technical ability, scores goals and right attitude. Then after my post, kid only goes and scores the winner! One to watch, we will need a song for this one.... :)

His attitude is right and he works hard in a poor team and stand out a bit.
You are right when you say he scores goals, that was the goal that stuck the s on goal. He is up to 2 now for the season.

Man, I'm watching his match at the moment and it has jsut come to my mind to write in this topic and then I saw your post ;)

Think he's a Pep type of player who can pass the ball forward by different ways, help the attack, win the ball back and he is a quick box-to-boxer. But he has to work hard or and/or at least, he needs a new challenge because he doesn't [want to?] show his maximum in Eredivise.

He said in an interview not to long ago he sees himself as a #10 and is glad he's getting to play that role at Cambuur.

Lol, I was looking for video from yesterdays game and came across this http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/matchwinner-byrne-wil-cambuur-vaker-lelijk-zien-scoren.htm
You'll have to let Google translate but the telling sentence is :- According to the mercenary Manchester City Cambuur makes it often difficult to themselves by attacking too far to drive.

Good hit and a likable lad but lets not get too carried away yet, he's still got a lot to prove.

I think Pep will at least give him a shot and see how he is in his system. I'm hoping a lot of these EDS lads who are on the fringe of becoming first teamers are given some game time in the first half of the season next year. If they're good enough, they can continue here. If Pep thinks they need a loan to get more time, send them on one in January

I honestly think Jack will go out on loan again next season. I would be guessing there may be more interest from other clubs in the Dutch league so maybe a move to a PSV or Ajax or Feyenoord might benefit Jack more. Let him learn at 1 of the big clubs over there and see him back at the club as a 21 year old with 2 seasons of first team football under his belt. I think he will sooner or later next season break into the Irish set up so will have a few caps under his belt too. Not too sure if he will be good enough but is showing signs that he has some talent. Now if he goes on to score a few more goals in the run in and Cambuur stay up with his goals helping them then that will give Jack a lot of confidence. Who knows he may well be Silva or Nasris long term replacement if he is handled good.

He got footballer of the week in Holland for his performance and game winning goal for Cambuur.

Jack has been a better player for City than Manu Garcia imo. That doesn't mean that he will end up a better player, but it does mean imo that he could have been in our first team squad & played like Garcia has, prior to going on loan.
Although they play similar roles they are different players IMO. Manu is more of a flair player whereas Jack is tireless - not saying he lacks technical ability because he certainly has plenty of that - but they could definitely play together in the same team without getting in each other's way.

Jack started for Cambuur at Feynoord. They have just equalised on the 70th minute after a corner taken by Jack (not sure if he'd be given an assist in his stats though). 1-1.

I liked his performances more when he was an agressive and versalite CM in EDS rather than a Silva-type of player now.
