Well done boss

Because nearly every post you make slags the manager for playing 442/4222 and its nonsense.

He does play that system pretty much all the time. There are two mids & two wide players. Silva goes out left, Navas out to the right. They don't form a 3 with DeBruyne, he presses the cbs with Aguero.

Put on any recording of City right now when DeBruyne is playing centrally & you will see him next to Aguero when the oppo bring the ball out. Obviously he won't sit there in a chair when we have the ball, nor will Aguero who is the striker for that matter. But when the ball comes out, that's where he will be. Every time.
.

I wasn't refering to you but Bayern fans being dicks is nothing new.

There was nothing wrong with Pep's formation at all imo. They dominated the game but missed chances & were guilty of some shocking defending. But whoever they played, in whatever formation would struggle with Atletico.

I agree he's signed one or two shits, for what it's worth & his star players are on the wane. I think he has a much easier job building City than rebuilding Bayern. And I think he will sign one or two shits for us. All managers do, frequently. Then just blame it on the d.o.f.

It is not just about the match yesterday.
He made the same mistake again and again. What always resulted in a toothless attack with no away goals (just one away win in all away knockout matches). The only time we had away goals by one of our offensives was the match against Juve.

If you have a player that excels in knockout matches - the way Müller does since years - he just got Bayern into the cup final with his two goals last week so it is not a question of form - you do not leave him out in such a match, especially when you need exactly that player next week to save your ass again as he did very often the recent two years. You play him and try to give him the best situation to be able to score.

Instead Guardiola yesterday played a midfield formation that did not function all season together with a Thiago that seems totally off form since weeks. And it backfired again...

Maybe you cannot totally control the counter attacks of very good teams - but it for sure does not help if at the same time you castrate your own attack especially if even a 1:2 or 2:3 away from home is a lot better than a 0:1.

Because of wasting that 90 minutes yesterday Bayern has to score atleast two goals against Atletico on Tuesday - more if Atletico scores any goal. Against a team that has a formidable defense with a Godin that probably is fit again.

Stop making excuses for your shit players, Pep's perfect.

You lost because about 4 of your playrs sat on their arses & let a bloke jog through & Alaba turned his back allowing him to score, then several of your players missed piss easy chances at the other end.

You are playing in a league with no competition then suddenly having to compete & it will only get worse imo. Schweinstiger has (rigthtly) gone, Robben & Ribery are getting older as is Lahm. Alonso is old. And your back 4 is crap only surviving in the past imo due to the quality of the midfield & attack working to win the ball back.

Hummels next season eh ? Good luck.

Pellegrini never really stopped playing 4-4-2. He just started playing a midfielder with Aguero (usually Silva or KDB) and fans think it's a magical 4-2-3-1

I know. The wool has been well & truly pulled over the eyes.

If it was a proper 4231 the two wide players would be more narrow closer to DeBruyne rather than in front of the fullbacks.

He was possibly more varied in Spain than he is here, & that's not saying much.

Good points.

Fundamentally is what you're saying that Pep bears no responsibility for who he puts out and how he tells them to play?

I could buy that argument if same is applied to Pellers.

What the Bayern fans seem to be saying is that he made some crap selection choices, and played square pegs in round holes - and also that this wasn't just a one off but that they don't think he learns from previous CL experience.

These are exactly the same arguments made against Pellers - so if the Bayern fans are dicks then what does it make those who say the same for us?

I know what they are saying, but I think they played pretty well v Atetico bar finishing & individual mistakes. They created numerous chances & had about 70% possession away from home.

I'd be pretty impressed if Pellegrini had City playing like that v Atletico away from home.

But they think they are better than everyone else.

Stop making excuses for your shit players, Pep's perfect.

There is more positives than negatives and he is a very good coach. Just noch flawless.
We talk again after your first CL away knockout matches. It is a pattern that did not start at Bayern - it was the same at Barcelona. Let's wait and see.

It's the same for all managers. Pep can't guarantee anyone success in the Champions League, nor can anyone else. Barca were unbeatable a few weeks ago. Well they're out.

You lost a final to Chelsea at home a few years ago. Shit happens & it will happen to us even with Pep.

But he's still a genius imo irrespective.

It does seem weird that some fans either at Bayern, City & im sure other clubs think their are managers around who are perfect. Then that they would have every player in every game giving a flawless performance.
I think continuity of manager brings more chance of continuous success but in these days of the fickle fans they demand change and the boards are happy to go with it. The crazy thing is that not every club can win everything all the time. It doesn't stop fans believing they should though.

Your whole arguement is based on ifs and ' buts'. You don't the director of football influences the team or recruitment. I do.

I'm saying that there is a clear directive from the owners as to style of play.
I nor you know how or if this effects the manager. It has effected the manager at Chelsea and Pellegrini has said he's been affected by this before.

The previous manager did no better, in fact worse.

You do play the hand you're dealt. He's been dealt a unique hand. We could do this forever though.

The next manager won't have this squad. He will have control of the players coming in. He will not be bought players for Viera or whoever is next.

I don't believe it is fit for purpose. I think the summer spending will highlight that.

Nothing you have said detracts from any of my points.
Tbh, you've responded with nothing other than to repeat yourself again........ and again.

1. We get it, our squad is not fit for purpose and all the players were bought with Pep in mind and for 433.
2. Manuel was just in a caretaker role for 3 years and had little influence on the squad, team, formation and tactics.
3. Txiki gave the directive of we will be playing attacking football and this is against Pellegrini's wishes as he wanted a different style of football.
4. All this will change with the next manager though because as Txiki's mate, he'll be allowed to do as he pleases without influence from Txiki.
5. Txiki's mate will choose his own players to buy, a luxury not afforded to Manuel.
6. Because we will probably be active in the transfer market, this proves our squad is not fit for purpose albeit we've been active in every summer transfer window that I can remember, vis a vis our squad has then never been fit for purpose and judging by your logic never will be and this again is all Txiki's fault.
7. Tu Pac, Sheargar and Elvis are all alive and kicking and living in Atlantis where Lord Lucan is a tour guide.

I think this about covers your take on things, have I left anything out? Let's not go round and round in circles, just amend the above as applicable so we have an accurate assessment of how things stand on planet @schfc6.
