I don't know about you but I believe that, if it was the rags or the dippers in the mid-week fixture I think they would have had their game moved immediately, I find it appalling that the FA did not move our game to Saturday early kickoff.

not the FA. The Premier league is in charge of the Premier League fixtures. More to the fact, the TV companies can change fixture dates as they choose to in the current deal. Blame Sky. They dont care about City, they just want viewing figures.

have they actually ever moved a game for them?

and anyway IMHO Pellegrini just got his excuses in early because he knew all the lads will have their eye on Wednesday and this is what you're gonna be served if you don't give your all in the Prem

The clubs sign up to the fact that Sky and BT can change the games to whenever they want.

Plus three days is more than enough between games. Nobody moaned when it was Saturday-Tuesday last week, nobody came on and said "it should be Friday night" "it should have been last year because our players are too soft to play two games in six months", yet it's the same gap minus a few hours.

If anything we've had a kinder, much needed, longer break after the Madrid game before today so what's the difference? We would have needed a longer break after putting so much into the Madrid game, surely?

I don't think the dippers have actually been treated any better than we have. They played in Spain on Thursday night, had to play in South Wales at noon on Sunday and will play again on Thursday. They had to make eight changes as well and this might not affect their league chances but it certainly helped Swansea. It's hard to see what could have been done to give the dippers some help, apart from postponement but why the PL would not allow us to kick off lunch time Saturday I don't know. I'm still not sure it would have changed our result today though.

Sky and BT pump billions into football I suppose they can do whatever suits them
This.

Deffo not the FA.

Why would sky give a fuck about CL when they don't have it anymore?

For them this is a win win as we lost, meaning more viewers for the Arsenal game and potential "Super Sunday" scenario of their beloved rag goes nicking the last CL spot off us on last day.

Can't see how moving a match up a day could be so difficult...
Apparently more difficult than giving 100% in the match

If it had been Southampton playing RM and they had have moved it, there would have been plenty of City fans complaining about the disruption and the lack of consideration for fans affected by late fixture changes.

Don't buy into this nonsense that there was insufficient time between games. Pellegrini just wanted to use it has an excuse in the same way that informing the press of his impending departure at a time when the team were floundering is all very convenient. It's bollocks!!

Spot on. Teams have been playing Sunday-Wednesday for years. It's not a new scenario and he's coming across as a right fanny for continuing to bring it up. Plus it has absolutely nothing to do with the FA so not sure why the OP is placing this at their door.

To add to a pathetic performance a pathetic excuse to match.

Either Pellers has little self-perception or he is clearly purposely trying to deflect the blame for his own failings.

Whether right or not to pick a much changed side yesterday the performance perfectly summed up his failings as a manager.

That City side included around 170 million pounds worth of players bought by Pellers and highlighted how resources have been wasted on sub-standard players. The cherry on the cake being the only players, beyond criticism, was Iheanacho a player held back all season with his insistence on playing Bony.

Does anyone seriously think that Pellegrini would have played a significantly stronger XI had the game been played on saturday? I doubt it. He's going all out for the CL and doesn't give a fuck about qualifying for next season's competition.

The rags 2nd game of the season v Villa was moved to the Friday night, was there a genuine reason or was it because they had a champions league qualifier on the Tuesday?
