The Biased Football Association

Seeing as this is a thread about the FA being biased, what will it take for a ref to send rooney off? Is it because he's the England captain that he gets away with pissing in the refs ears and swearing week in/week out? Yesterday he should have gone . He was on a yellow and did exactly the same foul as drinkwater. But when the bottler oliver is in charge then you know the outcome.
 
Sorry it's disgraceful that we were selected for the last sky game, surely the rags v leicester was the standout fixture for the 4.30pm fixture. The Stoke game moved 3 times so don't tell me they couldn't have moved this. The apologists in this thread disgust me.

Sunday to Wednesday isn't a problem normally apart from the fact that Real Madrid were playing on the Sat. Small margins can be the difference at this level.

Sky control the fixtures. Nothing to do with the FA or anyone else.

I would have no issue if the league imposed a rule, for all clubs, ensuring clubs played on a saturday if they had a CL match the following Wednesday. However that rule is not in place and why should we be treated differently to any other club?

Every week you moan we get treated differently but here you are advocating it.
 
On Saturday,Jeff Stelling asked the question "do we do enough to help teams prepare for a CL game".An emphatic no from all four panellists and Big Nose Thommo really fought our corner which surprised me.However and who knows if this is true,apparently we did NOT ask for a rethink to change the KO day.
 
I doubt pellers would have asked for it to be moved. Why would he want to take away one of his excuses for an inept performance.
 
Two days of recovery is absolutely plenty IMO. Kun, Kev and Kompany could easily have been involved yesterday then play again on Wednesday

Plus three days is more than enough between games. Nobody moaned when it was Saturday-Tuesday last week, nobody came on and said "it should be Friday night" "it should have been last year because our players are too soft to play two games in six months", yet it's the same gap minus a few hours.

If anything we've had a kinder, much needed, longer break after the Madrid game before today so what's the difference? We would have needed a longer break after putting so much into the Madrid game, surely?

Agree with you to a certain extent. But last week we were at home. I know it's not far to travel, but we all know
how travelling can be tiresome.

While I agree with this surely when Sky or whoever decide which fixture(s) is(are) to be televised they want the best possible matches which attracts the highest possible audience? Picking matches where the players/fans/manager have their eyes on the following fixture will not tick those boxes. Everyone (including the audience) knows the team will be weaken and the match rubbish - only the loyal supporters not at the ground will have sufficient interest to watch it.

They had to make eight changes as well and this might not affect their league chances but it certainly helped Swansea. It's hard to see what could have been done to give the dippers some help, apart from postponement but why the PL would not allow us to kick off lunch time Saturday I don't know. I'm still not sure it would have changed our result today though.

Even the Swansea manager said this was nuts to expect of Liverpool.
